Welcome to part 2/2 of our Japan Van Life Youtube travel series! This week we headed to the Japanese mountains to experience the traditional culture.
After giving you the full tour last week we put it into practise and actually spend the next three days and night camping, eating, sleeping and cooking in the camper.
Living in a van in Japan was harder than we thought and we did run into some problems on the road – of course, but it has been an incredible road trip with some incredible experiences off the beaten track that we could have never seen without the camper. Including hidden hot springs and beautiful temples.
We’ve left our trust converted bus in Norway and picked up a mini camper van in japan! You can’t beat the freedom of van life and we’re so excited to go on this Japan road trip 2023!

Coincidence. Sunday night I watched your video and learned about Kancho from you two. Monday, I went to work at my school and first thing in the morning the counselor comes into report that a parent was concerned about a game the boys played on Friday at a birthday party. One of the kids was going around goosing his friends in the butt with two fingers. The adults were perplexed and concerned as to why the kids made up such a game! LOL! I suggested that I thought perhaps the kid who started it learned it from something to do with Japan. The little boy who started it likes anime and manga, and many of the kids have a fascination with Japan. I suspect this may have something to do with it! LOL. Never ever heard of this until you two and the next day confronted with worried parents regarding kids poking each other in the bums! Thank you for enlightening me about the ways of the world, and perhaps better understand the mind of a 10 year old!!
