In today’s vlog we head to Disney’s Magic Kingdom for the soft opening of TRON Lightcycle / Run! We got our virtual queue at 7am and ended up getting group 12. I had about 2 hours to get to the park in time for my VQ time. I was a little late so I was worried I may not be able to ride but they said they were giving guests an hour grace period for TRON. I rode it in the 4th row and it was a really great ride! I got to see the new on board photo and video, I hope they make some changes to the photo but the video turned out pretty cool. After the ride we saw the new end show, which is basically just an ad for Enterprise Rental Car, the sponsor of the ride. It was a little underwhelming but I do think it’ll look cooler at night. Then we ate some new TRON themed foods from the Energy Bytes food kiosk outside of the ride. We tried the beef and the chicken dumplings, the watermelon drink, the cake holes and the mochi. Some items were hits and some were misses but I’m so excited for new food options in the park! After trying the foods we checked out the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure construction progress, rode a few rides and checked out some new merch before heading home for the day. hi Tim you are right tron is a very short ride for how long you have to wait to ride it the food looked good too 🐓
I think it's precisely because people would try to wait until nighttime to ride that they will be enforcing a strict return time. I understand the reasoning but I also think it's unfair because we are not given a choice of return time when (if!) we book a virtual queue. This means that if we are lucky to get a spot at 7:00am, we need to make our way to the park as soon as it opens so we don't miss our chance, since the return time is estimated and keeps changing, so we can't really plan around it.
How excited are you for the return of happily ever after firework show? I found out yesterday and when I told my wife she nearly cried she was that happy we love happily ever after

It’s fun to see but if I was sitting next to you and you were talking thru the entire ride I’d be upset. So many vloggers talking thru stuff not letting people experience it for the first time. See it all the time. Frustrating.
being a local who can't get to the parks until night time because of work, this is such a tease. I have been excited for Tron for 5 years lol. I'm not wanting to just take advantage of getting a boarding group and showing up whenever… I just really want to experience the ride. Not everyone is trying to take advantage. We just literally can't get there during the day. The weekday pixie pass is the only AP offered. I will also mention I tried for the AP preview and didn't get one after 3 hours waiting.
Think I still Like Hagrid’s Ride better, this ride seems Short. But I still love Disney 😉

Wait, wait. that was ALL they give you? It wasn't even that fast or twisty? Hell, I know we only had Tim's camera to go on, but Space Mountain is way longer, faster and has more thrill cornering etc when I went on it.
THIS is what they think is going to swamp Disney Magic kingdom? Bloody hell. Pass. + Needing to potentially pay 12+ USD to get a Magic Genie queue assist if it gets busy? DOUBLE pass.

From what I've seen the Tron camera actually takes a picture from both sides it just wasn't working on your run.

Hi Tim! Photopass photographer here! You might not see this but I’ll still comment it just in case you or someone else curious comes across it. If you visit the sales and service center where you can purchase your photopass photos, we would be able to pull up the picture from your side so you’d be the one closest to the camera. You’d just show us the date and the time of the photo that you do have and that would help us look up yours! Hope that helps you or anyone else that may be interested

We got our first ride on Tron today. It was amazing. Can't wait to ride it more. Will be there on opening day to hopefully ride again.

I love how you were late, but still just casually walked to Tomorrowland, stopped for the morning show and fireworks, and were basically unbothered. No rushing. Just taking it in and enjoying the day regardless of timelines. 🙂

For what it's worth I've said the exact same thing for years & years about Rock N' Roller Coaster, that it's too short as well, which I've mentioned a few times to cast members as I was walking out the exit cue to leave the ride, and all they've ever said to me in return was that, "If the ride was longer it would only make the entrance cue line that much longer."
Yeah I’m late all the time for my guardians of the galaxy boarding group time because I usually get called for it around 10 to 11 and I’m still driving up during that time and usually by the time I get all settled there and have eaten something it’s like 12 or 12:30 when I get in line and it doesn’t even turn blue like if you’re late for the individual lightning lane but yeah either way they just let you in. Glad I’m not getting a virtual queue on Tuesday for tron then. Don’t really wanna spend $20 but didn’t get an annual passholder preview and don’t have a reservation for magic kingdom this time so gonna have to get an ILL I guess🤷🏼♀️even though it doesn’t look as good as guardians I’m excited and hope it’s still good
