TRIP REPORT | Premiere on Ultra-Low-Cost! | Phoenix to Dallas (via DEN) | FRONTIER A321 & A320Neo

Frontier Trip Report flying from Phoenix to Dallas, connecting at Denver airport, onboard an A321 & A320Neo of Frontier Airlines, on a sunny and very warm spring morning.

A very comfortable trip from Phoenix to Denver and then to Dallas onboard the Frontier Airbus A321 and A320Neo. Somehow I managed to have the 2 seats next to me completely free on the first flight so I had even more space for me. The second one was absolutely fully booked, so there was no “extra free comfort”.

Flying over this area of the United States is always amazing. The views you get from the other side of the window are always amazing. On the first flight, after departing from Phoenix and enjoying some nice views of the city, we flew over the Hopi Reservation Navajo in Arizona. The views of the desert with its huge cliffs were stunning. It always amazes me!

After that, we flew towards the Rocky Mountains. What a contrast in visual terms! From the warm and super-hot desert to the snowy and green mountains. They are so different and both so inhospitable. Both extremely beautiful, both so arid, both so eye-catching!
The approach into Denver, although it was little bit bumpy, as reported by the pilots, it was really nice, flying first over the Rocky Mountains at low altitude and then next to Denver city.

The second flight was totally different. To the east of the Rocky Mountains, the terrain is really flat (in comparison, of course). Although the flight was reported to be very smooth by the captain, we ended up finding a lot of turbulence, especially during the initial climb and the approach and landing in Dallas. Anyway, that turbulence made the flight even more interesting. I tried to show the real feeling of it, so I didn’t stabilize de clips where we had turbulence. Just for you to know that it’s not bad recorded, but that was the feeling onboard.

In terms of the catering service, Frontier offers only a pay-per-eat menu service. I went for the cheese tray and cranberry juice on both flights. However, I must say that I was expecting much more from this menu service. The options were extremely reduced to almost only trash snacks. Some warm food would be a perfect addition to the Frontier onboard menu. One relevant source of income for the ULC airlines is onboard sells, by not offering more expensive warm meals I think they are missing some income.

One thing I didn’t like at all was the extremely small tray tables. It was almost impossible to put anything over them: you can’t work on a laptop, but you can’t almost even eat what they offer on the onboard menu! Why do they have such a tiny thing!? Anybody knows? Is it there any reason behind it?

Now it is your turn!
Have you ever flown with Frontier Airlines? How was the experience? Which route? Which aircraft model? Have you ever been to Phoenix? Maybe in Denver? What about Dallas? What do you think about the Frontier Airlines experience? Are the Ultra-Low-Cost airlines worth the money? Does the lower fare cover the less comfort?
Lots of things to talk about! Read you in the comments!

  1. Hmmmm, something has happened at FL for they seem so much more professional than they have on previous videos I have seen. It is a shame they haven't improved their selection of food and not to put ice onboard seems a bit over the top but over all they do seem to have improved their onboard attitude!

  2. Great idea of tail art. Gives the aircraft an individuality of its own. Much rather look at a line of Frontier aircraft than a line of Southwest. Small tables? Nothing much to put on them. Great two for one video. Stay safe. Mick🇬🇧
