The Tohoku Shinkansen opened in 1982. It connects Tokyo and Shin-Aomori, and has the longest distance on the Shinkansen line under the jurisdiction of JR East.
This time, I travelled from Tokyo to Morioka on ’Gran Class’ seat. ‘Gran Class’ is the highest class of seats and services on the Japanese Shinkansen.
‘Gran Class’ has great hospitality for only 18 people.
Dedicated Gran Class attendants provide refreshments (light meals) and drinks, etc.
You can enjoy free drinks including alcohol 🍷
