CYCLING FOR 24 HOURS – Vietnam Charity Ride 2023 Pt. 1

Today we are doing our longest cycling challenge, riding over 200km in Da Nang Vietnam.

Our friend Katie was doing a 500km charity ride for Newborns Vietnam (children charity) and a local hospital cancer charity.

We decided to join in with many other cyclists participating in the long distance cycling challenge.

Part 2 coming up next.

  1. I have to say that the vehicles follow the road rules better the the cyclists. The riders all act like they are connected to the bike in front of the rider to their side. Like they are all one single giant vehicle..Lane splitting is hilarious…. I understand your criticism of the buses and others passing but jeez Louise stick to a single lane and allow traffic flow…especially since the local authorities have not blocked trafficker for the ride. I believe in the old saying live life by tasting death but that was always said in simple fun…not in actual practice. Wrestling with a 6 ton bus or even a small car ….your probably going to loose. This video is good and it is especially informative as to "what not to do in a group ride". Should be a hospital charity ride for cyclist that get into accidents.

  2. Great video Cruise. Nice to see a thriving cycling community in Da Nang. I'm moving to Da Nang in May, wondering whether I should bring a bike with me or buy one there? I see there is a Giant store in Da Nang. Do you know if they stock good road bikes preferably carbon frame?

  3. These exits are always beautiful, too bad about the traffic. At the beginning it goes at a slow speed, and then accelerates more and more and the participants do not realize that it is an outing and not a race.
With my mountain bike, I wouldn't be able to do those kilometers in one go, or even maintain an average speed of 30 km/h (usually my average speed is 25 or 26 km/h).
Nice video, looking forward to the second part! 🚲🚲

  4. With me being a rim brake user and fan, it's great seeing so many rim brake bikes πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

  5. I asked on an old video when I probably should've waited for a new one, but what were those convertible pants you guys have? I"m looking for some lightweight water resistant pants for my next trip to Japan instead of lugging around a bunch of jeans.

  6. Yikes 😬. The way they blatantly break the road rules of crossing the double solid yellow lines to go in opposing traffic is just reckless.

  7. I really enjoy watching this video, especially without any background music. Have a safe ride!

  8. Ah, the Hoi Van Pass – 20 years ago I rode that on a bike tour, a gloriously beautiful day, only spoiled on the descent where a collapsed drain caused my rear wheel to disintegrate. Oh well. But it is a fabulous place to ride.

  9. Beautiful footage and commentary. Felt like I was right there in the middle of the impressive bike ride and enjoyed every minute of it. The route seemed very clean and attractive, even inviting. Really appreciate how concerned you are with safety and the traffic all around you while still having fun.

  10. Hi Cruise and Thuong, hope you are doing well, I'm DamiΓ‘n from Argentina, Just a question, how difficult it would be to chase you guys with an mtb on those rides? Thanks and have a nice week!

  11. Can't really blame the cars and motorbikes for causing all these dangerous situations when those are the same people who cycle in the middle of the road while right lane is free. It's just that "I am here, I don't care about you" driving culture. Plenty of dangerous moments created by cyclists as well. Starting a group ride in the rush hour on one of the busiest roads in Danang why not…Great event and idea tho πŸ™Œ

  12. Seems like Da Nang is a fun place, maybe good for me to escape the next winter there! Any suggestions for a few months stay?

  13. I work a weird schedule, so I mainly ride alone. But this group ride reminded me of the one group ride I've been on. Lots of fun. Here's to a great video of you two enjoying yourselves and me for maybe finding a group in the future! Great content!

  14. Well, I got a new favourite Cruise vid. And damn right there better be a part two, and three even. Lots can happen in 200kms

  15. These kinds of events are usually the most fun. Everyone is just relaxed cycling and looking out for each other. Great video capturing the atmosphere.

  16. You should become an iFit digital trainer, it would be great to go along on digital bike rides to the different places you've been to.

  17. We just can’t get that race out of you can we. Awesome Cruise. Enjoyed it.

  18. Like Olympic champions friends, having guests from 190 countries world wide, because cycling makes life worth living and fans like me love youuuuu guys
