This is a short video of my travel to Nagano, Japan. I traveled there from Nagoya and it took me closed to 3-hr train ride to reach there.
Nagano (长野) is the capital and largest city of Nagano Prefecture, located in the Nagano Basin in the central Chūbu region of Japan. Nagano is categorized as a core city of Japan.
Host of the 1998 Winter Olympics, Nagano is an outdoor sports mecca particularly famous for skiing and snowboarding. Often called the “roof of Japan,” it boasts the highest mountain ranges in the country. In fact, Nagano city is the highest prefectural capital in Japan, with an altitude of 371 meters.
This clip presented my movements in Nagano where I visited some of the key attractions of the city. Some of these included the Gondo Shopping Street (15mins walk from the JR Nagano station), Zenkō-ji Temple (15mins walk from Gondo or 25mins walk from station), Nakamise-dōri Street (仲見世通り) (next to Zenko-ji, Niōmon & Sanmon Gate), Higashiyama Kaii Kan and Nagano Prefectural Art Museum (1min from Zenko-ji) and Joyama Park (next to the Nagano Prefectural Art Museum) etc. I also had my meal there.
It was the 2nd week of December 2022 then, weather was cold (though it wasn’t snowing yet). I love the coldness, very cooling and refreshing and in Singapore, is what we called “Shiok” (meaning “feeling great”)!
