  1. Whew glad I already ordered my book then! Looking forward to reading it – if it’s anything like your channel it’s going to be amazing! I’m going for the first time in May and your channel has been massively helpful!! Hope you have an amazing trip!!

  2. I’m spending a night in Kinosaki Onsen too! It’s one of the few Onsen places I found when researching that is completely tattoo friendly. I’m really looking forward to it

  3. You asked us to tell you what we would like to see you doing… We would like to see you having a good time 🙂 oh and get a gatchapon LOL Have fun!!!!

  4. Have you thought about doing a goshuincho. A book of stamps of the shrines and temple you've visited a good souvenirs and physical memento of your visit.

  5. I’m going in May and I can’t book any trains yet. It seems for many things in Japan I can only book things a month prior. Is this normal?

  6. So excited for you and to see new videos!

If you haven’t been yet, I was more impressed with Teamlab Planets than I thought I was going to be.
I know you mentioned one of them, but a Tokyo Nagoya Kyoto trip will take you near all three of the major railway museums. I’ve always wanted to go to Meiji Mura near Nagoya too.
I think Kyoto is a great idea, though you might not appreciate the difference in crowds as much as others if you haven’t been there in a while. But there is always more to see there. Like Tokyo, it is never a waste to visit there again.

    Good luck and safe travels!

  7. That’s great news! We are going to be in Japan mid April so if we happen to see you we’ll definitely say hi 😄

  8. If you need to list where you’re staying, do you need to list ALL the places or just the first place? Because I am staying at, like, eight different places.

  9. Hello Amy, it's time for it! I hope you'll have great new experiences after such a loooong interval. What I would like to see featured in your future videos are Kinosaki Onsen, Onomichi, and Sanriku coastal region.
As someone who visited Japan last November, I was chuckling puzzled by the English language used in the new Visit Japan Web pre-authorisation system and the whole design of it. I have to go there this March, and compared to my last experience, VJW is much better with constant updates (apart from the funny English). I'd like to share some tips for VJW here: 1. As soon as you set your foot on the corridor away from the boarding bridge, get onto WIFI to display your VJW account's Blue banner saying Accepted on your mobile. 2. At Tokyo Haneda Airport, if you are not ready to show it to any random helper, they will direct you to a quarantine test room 2km walk away from the quarantine point. 3. Not a single person without wearing a mask did I ever see in the street during my stay… 4. Proximity, climate, mentality, etc. it's understandable, but a bit maddening new Japanese phrase on the wall in some restaurants is "黙食 (moku shoku)", meaning "Eat without talking". Such is a cultural diversity. Enjoy!

  10. I'm heading out in just 2 weeks on a nearly identical route, including Kinosaki! Super excited!! It will technically be my second time going but last time was 18 years ago as a teenager 😳

  11. Thinking of going to Japan soon for the blossom season 🙂 With the vaccination approval on the Visit Japan website , do you have to be vaccinated within the last 6 months? I had my last one about a year ago and don't want to get another

  12. Amazing! We ended up on almost the exact same idea! Though we opted for no Kyoto as we figured it would be busy, so doing Osaka, but then going to Himeji (hopefully on the Hello Kitty Shinkansen) then Kinosaki (because we absolutely loved it when we went in 2015) to Kobe and then back through to Nagoya 😁 where are you staying in Kinosaki? On our first trip there we stayed at Onishiya Suishoen which was a little walk from the bath houses, but unforgettable, but this year we're staying at Nishimuraya Honken (which I'm really looking forward to!!)

  13. Woah… A 18 page itinerary 🥹 And here I am with my 1 page itinerary 😭

  14. Yay, I'm excited to see your trip highlights! Your videos are SO helpful to me as I plan our first ever Japan trip later this spring. Have you run across areas of Tokyo or Kyoto that sell local crafts? I'd love to buy something beautiful and handmade. Are there certain markets or areas that you would recommend?

  15. We’re heading there next Thursday starting off in Tokyo. I’m beyond excited to finally be going back so I can imagine you’re feeling the same! We’re doing the scenic railway in Kyoto based on your recommendation, seeing a sumo wrestling tournament in Osaka and ending in Kanazawa. We had to make a spreadsheet with plans because there are endless things to do! I hope you have an amazing time and can’t wait to see your content of what you get up to 😊🇯🇵

  16. always glad to see your content! i hope to fly again in March. Keep up the great content! 🙂

  17. Would love to see Covid precautions in place, or maybe some outdoor dining options. I know it's rare but wondering if there's any good options for outdoor dining throughout the country you come across!

  18. I have done a day trip from Nagoya to Magome, then bus to Tsumago, then back to Nagoya by dinner time It is super interesting and beautiful countryside everywhere. The two post towns are great each in their own way. Highly recommend!!

  19. Thanks for all your tips and videos, they are great! This will be my first trip to Japan and I'm excited and a bit nervous. I'm going for 3 weeks (end of April – mid-May) and I've noticed you've bought the JR Pass and Regional pass. My dilemna is that I don't want to travel consecutive days. I usually stay 4 to 5 days at one place. So, is this the reason you yave both the JR Pass and regional pass ? I still haven't finished deciding where to go yet, but I have given myself until the end of this weekend. I hope you'll have a minute or two to help me a bit. Thanks again for your videos!

  20. Enjoy your time in Japan…It's been a month since i came back from my trip to Japan. Already planning for next year's trip! But have a blast on your trip and can't wait for your videos of your trip!

  21. Yesterday I registered for the documents required to visit Japan. Today they sent me a code to enter on the documents within 24 hours however, I cannot find where to put this code and I can't find an answer to this question on their website can you help? Your videos have been very helpful and I love your Channel

  22. We are going in October so a bit away atm but mainly would like to know what you have to do with Covid there. Money too how much to get out before leaving I was guessing 91k yen. $1000 aud.

  23. Is there much difference if you're double vaxxed or triple vaxxed on their immigration website?

  24. can you give us a feedback if it is possible for people with tattoos to enjoy Kinosaki?! THX 🙂

  25. I just got back from Japan and was SO pleasantly surprised by a neighbourhood in west Tokyo called Chofu. I went because they have an AMAZING yokai themed cafe (after the manga gegegenokitaro) but they had this beautiful temple with a beautiful shopping/restaurant street where you can see people making soba – it was a really beautiful neighbourhood and easily my favourite day of the trip.

  26. i will be going mid March, Bullet train from Shinagawa to Kagoshima. Hire a car and drive to the James Bond monument in Bonotsucho Akime. then stay one night where i don't understand them and they don't understand me. I Love it!!!

  27. I am leaving for Osaka in three weeks and have tickets to the sumo tournament – a dream for 30 years… If you are still in Osaka when the tournament is on (March 12- 26) and you have never seen sumo you can usually get on the day tickets if you avoid the weekend. Perhaps I'll see you there!

  28. question about the visit japan website. The website asks where I'll be staying during my trip but I will be going on a month long journey starting in Fukuoka making my way towards tokyo so do I just fill in my first adress or do I need to do something else?

  29. I filled out the visit japan form today and it got approved as I was finishing it. I’m leaving for Japan in 2 days so they’re giving priority to people who are leaving soon.

  30. Looking toward to the Japan vlogs Amy. It’s still on my to do list as I couldn’t go in 2020, so hopefully one day I’ll use them air miles 😄

  31. Great stuff! So glad you're heading back to Japan for more venturing around! Any chance we could get a video about what to pack and bring while visiting Japan?

  32. I think this is a good plan for you and I hope you have an amazing trip.
And I think it is an itinerary I would like for my next trip also. 💜

  33. Hi Amy, would love to see you travel just outside of Tokyo to the wine region of Koshu Valley. My husband and I work in the wine industry in Tasmania, Australia, and travel to Japan for the first time in July, but have looked everywhere to find information of the region. There are a couple of youtube videos, but not to informative. We understand that there is not much English spoken but would love to hire bikes at the station and cycle around and try some amazing world winning wines. Would love to see a video of someone covering this region with a lot more information. Looking forward to watching your adventures soon in Japan 🥰

  34. Be sure to screenshot all the QR codes and the quarantine blue page before you land at the airport. We had the QR codes but didn’t realize we needed the quarantine page also. Standing around in crowds with people from the plane trying to connect with wifi was not the fun way to start the trip. Other than that, everything was super fast and organized. It was so nice to be back in Japan and we hope you enjoy your trip as much as we did ours!🎉

  35. Thank you so much for all your work and information.
I've done the Japan Web thing (I think!), it was time consuming but as you say not too bad – even for an old person like me.
We're going to meet my daughter in Kyoto then go to Shikoku,on to Oita where she's studying.
Have a great trip, will look forward to seeing all about it soon ☺️

  36. Your many videos have helped carry us through the 'dry' period of COVID and no visits "home". Finally, we will be back in a few weeks to delight in the many attractions and experiences "off the beaten track.'
Yes, certainly enjoy Kinosaki but please do try the onsen there; it may change your life – for the better. Don't worry about Western modesty concerns; let the local rules apply but get some guidance early about the expectations. We are in our 70s and have never felt out of place in any of our visits, meeting generosity and kindness where ever we have gone.
Finally, please note the terminating "O" in Japanese is NOT like "go". Your wide pronunciation – common enough here in Australia – does not fit the Nihongo which sounds like "AW" as in "raw". That stands out in your programs when you speak of Tokyo (Tawkyaw) and Osaka (Awsaka). Hope that helps, and, yes, we may bump into you along the way. It would be good to share a gemmaicha.
