Been way off the ‘beaten path’ in Jamaica, Bahamas, St. Thomas, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, Guatemala, Honduras and various places in Mexico without any issues.
It's sad that all these ports are in countries that's populated by black and brown people. But, I've been to all these places and never had a problem.

I live on St Thomas and it’s very safe but like any city don’t go walking in dark alleys at night but otherwise it is very safe.

Listing Mexico as a whole is a bit unfair. I'd like to know cities in particular that are dangerous.
Mahogany Bay is also pretty sketchy. Went there in 2017 and did dolphin swimming and they drove us to the other side of the island and we ran into multiple convoys of people holding ARs and shit
I have been to the Bahamas and Hondorus on Carnival cruises. I bought the Carnival excursions and had an amazing time. 😁
50 yrs ago when I was a cute blonde, I was walking down beach alone and approached by a large local man offering his services. Not tourists services. He told me that many young women go to the islands looking for men's services. I walked faster so did he. I got away. I was naive and young. Never went back to Nassau,the Bahamas

St. Thomas the US Virgin Islands is a US Territory. In other words you are still in the USA when you go there.
