  1. I think business flights will still be there since some businesses need to fly out employees

  2. damn, I haven't experience business class yet and it's over. I was looking forward to the amazing lounges, on flight catering and services, heck even the freakin plane shower T___T

  3. I feel that there are two specific aspects to be understood here. One is the SERVICE PROVIDED as a mandatory aspect by purchasing such a ticket . Like for example if one buys a first class ticket he gets dedicated check in lounge special food etc etc all part of that service. Here the airline cannot compromise any of such services. Now the second one called PROMOTION here the airline can advertise many aspects to promote a service within their network. Like for example the airline can say if one buys a fully flexible economy class ticket a passenger may carry two bags otherwise only one and so on. These are promotions where airline can implement mechanisms to improve revenue. It is perhaps the pressure from the so called budget carriers which is putting many flag carriers in big trouble for having huge overheads. So now they are guessing where all a passenger can be squeezed and make some extra revenue. On the other hand some budget carriers even think of removing all the seats and make passengers stand and fly ! But for the interference of safety standards this would have happened. So the point is what is this air travel all about, just ferry passengers like carrying garbage sorry to use that word from point A to point B. It is high time that air travel needs to be standardised and not to be left to the fancies of the so called marketing strategies. If it goes like this one may be charged for even using toilets. If business class is to be scrapped it would be ideal to give some extra pitch seats to economy class passengers like some airlines have. Travelling 10 plus hours in cramped seats is a crime as we all know this can lead to severe damage to our body joints. It is high time that bodies like IATA must regain control of this run away industry and bring back its pride.

  4. I think there are some things not considered. The whole remote work thing will result in businesses flying employees to HQ/hub whereas before everyone would be in the same place already. For example, my company has started to do this for all remote workers very regularly. This is an entirely new category of business travel which just didn't exist before, because working remotely was never as big of a thing as it has already become now. Many company are offering this as a bonus alternative to the typical bonuses one might get working in an office (free food/coffee/alcohol, social events, etc).

  5. So you’ve done videos on the death of business class and the death of first class… so they’re both dying? You expect that there won’t be any premium travel? Bollocks

  6. Emirates new business class has given me a very bitter taste, and will not be trvaeling with them until they change back to an "all seats have aisle access" layout

  7. I think remote workers who travel with work in tow and want to work in-flight are going to be the new "business travelers" and will fill the demand for some sort of (maybe scaled-down) business class seating… but this is just speculation based on my personal experience.

  8. As an airline professional it's more complex than this to blatantly say JCLs is all but dead and it's certainly not what I am seeing now with our airline, so this take is actually a little off imo.

It's supply and demand, and it's route dependent. Also, business can succeed if airlines opt for creative ticketing combinations – for example one way PEY the other return flight on business. It would also be nonsense to not operate high yield seats on a NYC-LON route for example, where high end leisure and corporate pax levels will always exist. In addition, frequent flyer points need to be considered. During the pandemic & moving forward, so many pax accumulated points on the ground and built new partnerships – so pax can offset large ticket prices with points + cash can allow higher loads on business. I agree on unbundling business class, however the lower end pricing still needs to be significantly higher than premium econ higher end, as airlines whose brand depends on lux and depends on being a legacy carrier will not want to be impacted. If I want to fly a fully unbundled airline – i'll fly Scoot, Ryan Air or Air Asia etc, however if I want an experience, with proven reputation and higher level of service, i'll fly a legacy carrier.

  9. Humans are getting taller and larger with each generation. As economy seats get tinier and tinier, there will be more and more humans who can no longer physically fit into them. There will always be some sort of premium option to accommodate those folks (at least those among them who have the money and want to travel without getting their knees broken in economy). Classy, high-quality Asian and Middle Eastern carriers will continue to offer a true business class, while trashy, low-quality US carriers (who never knew how to do business class properly to begin with) will probably phase out business class completely and replace it with "premium economy" for the big-boned folks with larger wallets.

  10. Theirs absolutely no way id pay for 3 hours to sleep in a triple bunk bed 😂😂😂 Id rather sleep with my foot on a window and get cramp 😂

  11. was just looking at fares to UK from NZ the cost of an economy seat is what used to be the price of a Business Class Seat….somehow, I don't think many economy travelers will be returning either at these prices….

  12. It's 2022 now and Lufthansa and Qatar Airways Business classes are bustling if my recent trips are indicative.

  13. why even fly at all? i bought a weekend house in another state. i choose to drive because it's just 3 hours vs taking a flight, where i rush to get to the airport, then wait for the flight, which takes about the same time. driving costs thousands of dollars less than business class, and i get to stop to sight see or just take a break at any stop along the way. i dont fly leisure since i dont really want to vacation in far away places. life is really good without flying. best of all, i charge up my electric car at my weekend home with solar panels, so the fuel is free.

  14. Nonstop Dan – Youtuber, airlines reviewer, and, from now on, aviation marketing guru 😉
This is an incredibly mindful, inspiring (at least, for airline marketeers) and well-made video that truly everybody let see your love for aviation. I wouldn't be surprised to see you being offered a job in a top-notch airline's marketing division some day – hopefully not, as this may end one of (if not, the) best YouTube's airline review channels.
Thank you so much for making and sharing.

  15. Would love to see an update on this now that we are out of restrictions in most countries and air travel is ramping up.

  16. For me, the real business class must have lie-flat seats. Premium economy is a waste of money. During pandemic 2020 I was flying from Toronto to Athens via Montreal in business. Nothing was served to Montreal. Luckily, there was a very good restaurant opened where I could fuel up. Then on the flight to Athens I was served with unbaked burrito, and was told to not expect anything else. On my way back with Lufthansa everything was top notch. I am avoiding Air Canada as much as possible.

  17. Customized – exactly what people expect.
I rather pay extra for meals I enjoy on demand than to have so called free food.
Nowadays people don’t have money to waste for first class and those reach can hire private jet at similar prices to first class tickets with substantial superior experience.

  18. We also ran into this after 9/11. The whole fleet was grounded for almost two months. The industry changed but it also sprang back. The economy expands and contracts. That is what businesses, especially airlines, need to be able to cope with.
