Tambo Rice Paddy field Arts – Japan

In these pictures you can see large paintings of colorful rice plants in large paddy fields.  In Japanese it is called “tambo”.  This marvelous painting began in the village of Inakadate in the “Aomori” district of Japan.  That was with the regional economic revival of Japan in 1993.  The villagers built a 22-meter high tower in the village to view the painting.  The painting is set in two paddy fields of the village, one of which is a massive paddy field of about 1.5 hectares with a height of 143 meters.  These giant rice plants are used for painting and are edible as well as specialty.  There are also many varieties of ancient rice.  For this purpose, 10 varieties of ornamental rice are used and they come in seven colors.

They are green, yellowish green, yellow, dark purple, white, orange and red.
