In mid-April, the scent of 350 wisterias begins to fill the Ashikaga Flower Park. There are four magnificent wisterias as old as 150 years, whose branches stretch over the trellises as large as 1000 square meters (0.24 acres) and the flower trusses cascade as long as 170cm (5ft 7in).
