Okinawa was not only the first time I had ever lived outside of the U.S., but it was also the first place I had ever been outside of the U.S. Along with Kyoto, Okinawa was responsible for inspiring me to travel around Japan and the rest of the world. Okinawa is the Hawaii of Japan. It is a beautiful tropical island with high cliffs that dive straight into water that is as clear as glass. Okinawa is loaded with World War II history, some of which we will explore in this video and Okinawa Part 2. Come along and visit an island with unbelievable scenery and rarely discussed history.
