  1. Hi, my wife and I came back home from our very first trip to Tokyo a week ago. We fell in love with Japan right away. I'm going back again in July to see my favorite band, Band-Maid, once more at Zepp Shinjuku. The entry process was quick and there were no shortage of staff at Haneda Airport. Your videos are great, always full of tips on what to see, I appreciate them a lot. Greetings from Norway 🙂

  2. Thanks for the advice, Amy! I'm flying with JAL and didn't realise I'd need to wear a mask for the flight. I think I'll just get a box of disposable ones in a nice colour…!

  3. Uniqlo sells some great quality masks that are really comfortable and breathable. They’re the only masks I use now!

  4. Great video just in time for my upcoming Kyoto trip planning. We’re only visiting Kyoto. Would Haruka + ICOCA cover most of the transportation within Kyoto? Would you suggest purchase those in advance or at ticket counter upon arrival in KIX? Thank you!

  5. Just commenting to say I'm about to fly to Japan next week and your videos along with others have really helped me with what to do and plan and how to prepare myself. Thank you so much for this content

  6. I love your videos. They always answer the nitty gritty details I think other video makers leave out. Thank you!

  7. Possible to please provide a link to check updated info for the blossoming of cherry blossoms?

  8. Thanks for all of the information Amy. This is a “keeper” video, to refer back to before make our Japan travel plans! The JR Pass updates were invaluable!

  9. Cool and useful video again, Amy. For those who like to carry as little cash as possible like myself, you can set up QR code payment apps on your phone that are generally more widely accepted by businesses that do not accept card. The most widely used one is called Pay Pay, which you can set up as long as you have a SIM card with a Japanese mobile number. The second most widely accepted is Line Pay, which anyone on Line can set up, you do not need a Japanese mobile number, plus it is also widely used in Taiwan or Thailand. You just link your bank cards, which can be from any country, to either apps and pay in store or online by either scanning the shop’s QR code or generating a code on your app that the cashier scans. But as you said, will still need some cash in Japan, but hate all those 100 yen coins making my wallet heavier though 🙂

  10. Got a question I’m going Japan in June with my 5 year old and 18 year old year when you say 3 time vaccinations is that include booster and does my 5 year has to take a test before travel cause hes not vaccinated

  11. Thanks for the update!!! I’m looking forward to my 5th trip to japan this year…you know what stopped my 2020 trip. Definitely going to look up some of these apps and websites! And definitely want o check out that huge Animate store!

  12. You can put oversize luggages on the top rack. That's what we did and same for many other people. Just make sure you reserve your seat.

  13. Thank you so much for this, it's so helpful!! Can't wait to go this sakura season!! Re. comfy mask – get a silk one, they're really soft and breathable (I have hormonal acne and it's the only type of mask that doesn't cause flare ups!)

  14. Is the cdc vaccination card the valid form of vaccination that they ask for when you arrive to Japan? Im supposed to leave within 5 days and I get so confused

  15. Any chance the yen will go back up to 150 before I leave for Japan on Feb 26th? I’m beating myself up for not buying yen in October 😫

  16. Can you buy a train ticket from
Tokyo to kyoto on the day ?

  17. Great videos! So easy to digest all the info. Can you recommend a pocket Wi-Fi company/process? I’m making my first trip in three weeks, I’m so excited! Thank you!
