Day 11 of 12 – Eastern Kyushu faces the Pacific Ocean and we saw some magnificent views of the sea as we drove from Miyazaki up to the hot spring city of Beppu.
There are many hidden shrines in this area of Japan. We decided that a shrine-hunt would be a great way to explore the scenery and discovered four that were very different to each other. Of course, we also stopped off for a very tasty lunch!
