Hiking shoes at the ready! We headed off to the utterly charming Kiso Valley where the old Nakasendo Road – connecting Tokyo and Kyoto – weaves through forests and lost-in-time picture perfect villages.
We start at Nagiso and walk through Tsumago and Magome; the old post towns.
For food we took ourselves a nice little packed lunch and grabbed a steam bun on the way.
Quiet lanes, beautiful gardens and a sense of peace pervaded the whole day. Definitely worth going to!!
