同経営の「天空の森」にある自家菜園にて無農薬野菜を育て、自前のにわとり牧場から食材を確保するなど、薩摩地方の食文化を現代に伝えることもモットーとしている。

The ryokan is especially particular about maintaining and transmitting the traditional food culture of the Satsuma area to modern society, and in order to do this, it secures ingredients by growing its own pesticide free organic vegetables in a home garden in “Tenku no Mori”, and by running its own chicken farm.
