Iwakuni is an amazing little town. We start the day at its star attraction, a very unique bridge called Kintaikyo Bridge. It’s much steeper in person, and the woodwork is beautiful. We probably spent more time there than we should have! Then we unexpectedly encounter cherry blossoms, in OCTOBER?! How unusual! After heading up the Iwakuni Ropeway to the top of the mountain, we slowly stroll to Iwakuni Castle. Though this castle is less impressive than others we’ve seen, we almost have it to ourselves and it has a stunning view overlooking Iwakuni (plus Bill was able to fly our drone!). After looking around the grounds, we head to our friends’ favorite sushi train restaurant, since they heard we hadn’t been ton one before! This was an amazing day full of new things and blessed with friends.

  4. Thank you for coming to my hometown! We really had a good time. Come back again in cherry blossom time!!

  5. Just woke in Australia this morning to see your blog. Iwakuni! Yes it’s on my list and yes we are booked to go for spring yay cherry blossoms! I was going to spend a morning there (taking off from Hiroshima) am I allowing enough time? I was going to take a train along the coast back to Hiroshima. Did you use Shinkansen or local train to get there? We seem to like the same places!

  6. I’ve been to this bridge once , it was in winter , I still remember how beautiful the place and the bridge was, hope to go there again , glad to find your video , and you have the same feeling ❤🤝

  7. まむしThe snake is poisonous and will die if bitten, but most of them bite their legs. Bitten. In the unlikely event that you are bitten, tighten the bitten part with a rope as thin as possible to prevent the poison from circulating, then call 119 for an ambulance and get a serum injection at the hospital. This poisonous snake can be found in damp places, riverbeds, and mountain paths in summer.

  10. Hello, nice to meet a friend who lives in Japan. I've been really looking forward to your videos recently. I feel very lonely when I think that I will soon leave Japan and go to another country. If possible, I would like you to stay longer.

  11. Mamushi snake is the most dangerous snake in main land of Japan. In Okinawa there lives Habu snake. It is more dangerous poison snake than mamshi.

The viper is a poisonous snake and its bite can be fatal.
It is very dangerous because it will jump at you if you startle it.

  15. Hi, I'm new here. I really love your video very much. Have you been to Malaysia? I just came back from Genting Highland. It is really an amazing place.

  16. Glad you were able to make it to the bridge. The river is not always that low – I once saw 3 vendor vans get washed away after heavy rains raised the river faster than they could get packed up. My former in-laws have an okonomiyaki restaurant just down the road from the bridge, so I’ve been there in every season. Like someone else said, it’s a top spot for cherry blossom viewing.
