撮影日：2012.4月25日　宮城県の大河原町から船岡に続く白石川の両岸8キロに渡り、大小約1200本のソメイヨシノが連なり、見事な景観を見せる。期間中はライトアップもされ、ボンボリが灯され、露店も多数出て賑わい、荘厳な蔵王連峰を背景に咲き乱れる、ソメイヨシノを中心とした桜並木は「一目千本桜」と呼ばれ、町のシンボル的存在。桜まつり期間中、電車は時速30キロほどで徐行運転し、車窓からの花見を楽しませてくれる。

The City of Shiroishi in Miyagi Prefecture lies about 300km north of Tokyo on the eastern side of the mainland Japan.
On the banks of the Shiroishi River, About 1,200 cherry trees include Yoshino cherry, double-flowered cherry, yamazakura . A third of those trees is over 80 years old.
Cherry trees in rows extend about eight kilometers along the banks of
the Shiroishi River running through the middle of Ogawara Town and
Shibata Town. When the cherry blossoms are in bloom, the trees are lit
at night and the Cherry Blossom Festival is held, attracting many people.
During the cherry blossom season, even the trains slow down as they pass by to let the passengers take their fill of the gorgeous view.
