Japan’s New MASSIVE Covid Wave Is GREAT For Tourism! Here’s Why
As of last week, Japan has reported 1,046,418 NEW Covid Cases in the past week! Major places like Tokyo, Hokkaido, and other major prefectures are all experiencing record highs for new daily covid cases. While I wish all those individuals getting infected with a horrible disease never happened, there is a silver lining to it. Despite all these people getting infected, the government has not taken any steps backward to close the border, or restrict tourists or residents from freely traveling for the holidays. This is a great sign! If you want to find out exactly why, then check out the video!

Because theyβre the only country still testing π
Very interesting video! I have been to Japan almost a month ago now. So most of your videos are now inrelevent voor me since I am not planning to go to Japan in anytime soon (months). But this video is still really interesting since I really want to Japan again. I really want the covid stuff the settle down so its a more pleasant experience. So this video really is interesting also for people not visiting Japan soon but still planning on doing so!
U think in may I have to take a Covid test to get in
are a lot of Japanese still wearing masks?
Me and my girlfriend are going to Japan 4 january and im still kind of nervous if they are going to shut Down, but i hope they are following the rest of the World πΊ
living with it , you can't fight a unseen enemy
I hope theyβre doing a βlearn to live with itβ approach and wonβt tighten entry requirements or straight up close their border again. I think they must see the folly in going backwards.
Thanks for the update. I'm returning in April and can't wait!
Cute Jolteon!
I just came home from Tokyo yesterday. Almost 100% masking and the case rate is spiking regardless. If there has ever been a case against masking, this is it. It's good to see that the government reaction is finally on par with what they can actually do to "fight the virus" (which is nothing). Almost everyone I talked to in Tokyo is ready for the masking to go away (most were curious about what its like where I live in the US), they just don't want to be the first one to do it due to social stigma.
just got back and I can tell covid is not an issue a lot of people everywhere more than I was just too, thanks for the update and I think by next spring they will lift all border requirements
I am travelling to Japan on January 10 !!
This is reassuring as I have my flights booked for the end of February!
ive watched a lot of your videos and theyre very good! i want to try to go to japan in the spring but im still a little confused on the procedure to get out there? i have my passport and am x3 vaccinated, but aside from the traveljapan website, are all the phone apps still mandatory? i plan on following your guide of doing as much as i can online as far as getting through customs etc. thanks!
Hi Harb and Matilda, I never saw this coming imagine telling someone a year ago this would happen, they'd laugh at you but here we are , strange but good , I suppose.. well some may not support this encouragement to travel but I suppose they can stay home right π anyway some people will never let go of their mask either I see it here
Thanks!
Nice. However, I just hope the hospitals are able to keep up with the severe cases.
Him: Knock on wood for me please.
Me:
literally seconds later, no hesitation knocks on wood.Very informative ππ»π¦
Herd immunity is the only way π
Covid will be more transmittable BUT less deadly as is the nature of viruses
I fly to Japan on xmas day……..fingers are crossed!!!!!!
Going to Japan this coming April. Hopefully, nothing changes…..
Be there This January π―π΅π―π΅π―π΅ππππ
How has it been with face masks?
Is it frowned upon to not wear them and will restaurants turn you away if you donβt walk in with them on?
That domestic tourism campaign in Japan has given me hell in booking hugely popular Ryokans in the Tohoku Region where foreign tourists don't usually go. It so happened my next trip coincides with spring break. One popular Hoshino resort in Aomori was blocked out from March 26 to April 13 which coincides exactly with spring break.. And I can't even find a single room in all of the Ryokans in Ginzan Onsen on those dates. Good thing somebody cancelled in the other Hoshino Resort property in Aomori so I got the last remaining room with a private semi open bath that just opened up. Since foreign tourists don't usually go there, I am actually competing with local domestic Japanese tourists whose domestic trips are being subsidized by the government's domestic travel campaign for Japanese residents…as they usually stay in Ryokans for their vacation.
Your jolteon is amazing!! Anyway been japan last month, thank you for your video tipss!! π€
Thank you for the news. Could you talk about sim cards and pocket wifi for japan in a next video ? I'm coming to japan in April and i'm a bit stressed about that hahaπ

fingers crossed nothing gets close, i fly over from austraila next saturday
Iβm heading to Japan tomorrow and Iβm crushed that the Shibuya countdown is cancelled. Considering that, is there anywhere else to celebrate/watch fireworks?
I think the main reason is officials are starting to realize there are negatives to having everyone isolated regarding immune response.
This is why I love Japan. Their policies, political leaning, and population behavior defy anything familiar to the West. The patterns are just completely out there lmao gotta love this country
Not even in some China cities are they wearing masks. It's pretty normal there, so no surprise Japan is the same.
Japan better not close before my January trip!!
Greetings from korea π°π· π β€οΈ
Here to give you all the information
on Kpop and korean thots lol π
I really hope they ease up on the border stuff and the masks disappear in 2023. Iβm learning Japanese right now and really want to do a work exchange in the near future , but have it feel normal there π’
Will I have any problems entering Japan as a US citizen at age 17 being an unaccompanied minor? I am meeting a friend and his family who live in Tokyo.
Hi just wanted to ask something. My bf is arriving in Tokyo today at 3:30pm he's not vaccinated and he's going in Manila. And a guy told him that he's QR code needs to be green but he's not vaccinated. Does he need to be vaccinated in Tokyo so they will let him in Manila? I appreciate it if you response.
