Living in a van on the streets of Tokyo

In this Japan vanlife travel vlog we decide to try stealth camping in our tiny Japanese campervan in Tokyo. After a wonderful few days exploring Japan’s Izu Peninsula, we took the scenic route back to Tokyo, stopping in the beautiful onsen town of Shuzenji – a great day trip from Tokyo as it is only a couple of hours drive away. Here we enjoyed the traditional architecture, onsens and beautiful autumn colours before continuing on to the world’s biggest city – Tokyo!
Stealth camping in Tokyo was just as weird and wonderful as we expected – we discover some useful vanlife travel hacks – including where to find good shower and laundry facilities before visiting a maid cafe, the tokyo poop museum (which was just as bizarre as it sounds) and the incredible teamLab planets exhibit as well as enjoying the arcades and delicious Japanese food that Tokyo has to offer!

⭐ About Travel Beans:
Welcome to the official Travel Beans YouTube channel! On this channel, you’ll find a variety of travel and vlog content, in which you’ll see us in places like Thailand, Japan, USA, Slovenia, and more.

In 2017 we left home with just ÂŁ500 in our bank account and a dream to make a sustainable travel lifestyle happen! We are now living our dream as digital nomads and want to inspire you to create your own story, whatever it may be!

After 5 years of aimless, yet enjoyable, backpacking around the world we found ourselves in New York City battling with depression. At this point, we decided to go home and confront this problem head-on. After 6 tough months at home we decided to go away again, but this time with a goal in mind.. to turn travel into a lifestyle.

Our time spent battling depression has influenced our outlook on life dramatically! We are now traveling the world in search of what makes us happy. In our vlogs, we talk openly and honestly about our travel experiences, the digital nomad life and depression. We hope our videos can help to inspire you to create a life that makes you happy!

  1. new zeeland !!! for food stops check out Chasing a plate here on YT. they are locals and have the best tips

  2. No doubt an extended rip to Australia would be nice to see you do. My health wouldn't work in many of the van life videos I have seen but it is refreshing to watch you two smile through most everything. Congrats on starting a family.

  3. I would definitely do vanlife in Japan, but in a larger more comfortable van! Thanks for showing the beauty and weirdness of Japan!

  4. So if you want to use the room for other things its ÂŁ18 for a leg over for three hours with a shower both at the start and finish, Question ! so this is where you got pregnant on a previous visit ?

  5. 2nd post i would worry if i pood in that colour also do you get to keep your poo as a keep sake ?

  6. How wonderful to see Japan again. I used to do trade shows in Japan then tour about. I have always been amazed at the amenities they offer when travelling. Now I am a senior I can visit virtually along with you.

  7. In the mid-50s my military family was stationed in Tainan, Taiwan. As a family, we went to Toyoko on R and R. It was amazing to my sister and me as we saw so many things that were fascinating to us because in Tainan there were no TVs, Taxies and tall buildings at the time. I love watching your travels and since I can't go seeing you have fun is wonderful to me as well.

  8. Hello, Hello, i love japan, and your video, is so cute! How much is it to rent your van in japan for one week, or where have you find the adress to the website for look those price, and you can try to rent a van in australia?, Thanks for answer!

  9. Love your channel, but I couldn't tour a country/city that promotes mask wearing. Non-surgical masks are virtually useless. We're controlled enough. Masks are the last straw.

  10. Ok you have actually convinced us on cam life if Japan. We have researched but we will go for a better van. But your comment spa trip with van life confirmed it for us 🙂

  11. I need to make it to Japan. Watching you two enjoy this unique country while showing off the beauty and special attractions in Japan is time well spent.

  12. Appalachia can totally rival Japanese fall, though both are beautiful. Look at videos of the Blue Ridge Parkway in fall in the SE USA.

  13. Have you thought about New Zealand? We also have roads and even babies here, so uniquely place to host a visit. I have been told there are birds also, but I have not seen one so could not confirm.

  14. Nothing beats the views in the White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire in the fall. I’m telling you, it’s like nothing you’ve ever seen. Especially when you’re on a mountain top. The views from Mount Chocorua are STUNNING in October!
