   1. 고조선 왕국 (BC 800~BC 108)
   (한반도 최초의 국가)

   2-1 고구려 왕국 (BC 37 ~ 668)

   2-3 신라 왕국 (BC 57 ~ 935)

   •신라왕국은 고구려, 백제왕국을 멸망시키고 삼국을 통일한 왕국

   3. 발해 왕국 (698~ 926)
   (고구려왕국이 멸망후 그 후손들이 중국을 몰아내고 고구려 옛 영토에 새로 만든 왕국)

   4. 고려 왕국 (918년~ 1392년)
   고려왕국은 아랍인 상인들과 무역을 많이했다. 아랍인 상인들은 이왕국의 이름을 "COREA"라고 불렀고 이이름은 현재까지 불려지고 있다.

   5. 조선 왕국 (1392~1910)
   (서울을 수도로 정하고 경복궁을 만든 왕조)

   5-1. 조선 왕국의 경복궁 History.
   •1395년 경복궁 완공
   •1592년 임진왜란 전쟁때 일본군대가 왕궁을 불태웠다.
   •1867년 왕궁복원 (500여개 건물복원)
   •1936년 일본식민지때 일본군이 왕궁을 훼손 (일본은 한국인들에게 모욕감을 주기위해 왕궁 일부분을 철거하고 그자리에 총독부 건물을 세웠고 또 왕궁 일부분을 동물원으로 사용)
   • 1990년 왕궁 극히 일부분만 복원시작.
   • 2011년~2045년까지 원례 모습대로 왕궁 전체 복원중이다.

   • 1945년 8월 15일 일본으로부터 독립
   • 1945년~1948년 미군이 남한을 신탁통치함
   • 1945년~1947년 소련이 북한을 신탁통치함
   • 1950년 6월 25일 한국전쟁 시작
   • 1953년 7월 27일~현재까지. 한국전쟁 휴전중

   ● 1945년 한국은 일본으로부터 독립했다. 일본이 물러가자 한국인들은 기뻐했다 하지만
   곧바로 미군과 소련군이 한국을 지배했다. 한국인들은 미국과 소련은 한반도에서 물러가라고 저항했지만 힘이 없었다.

   결국 한반도는 또다시 3년동안 외국의 식민지가 되었다. 남쪽은 미국이 지배, 북쪽은 소련이 지배했다.

   소련의 식민지시절 북한에 살던 20대 청년 김일성은 소련의 공산주의에 매료되었고 그는 북한지역에 공산당을 만들었다. 스탈린은 그에게 탱크와 무기를 공급했고 김일성은 1950년 6월 25일 새벽시간에 남한지역을 공격했다. 미국은 유엔군을 소집해 남한을 방어했다. 이것이 한국전쟁이다.

   미국과 소련의 영토확장 욕심과 이념대립 때문에 한국인들은 그들의 의지와 상관없이 강대국들의 꼭두가시가 되어 같은 민족끼리 서로 죽이는 전쟁을 3년동안 했다. 이것이 한국전쟁이다.

   결국 소련과 미국때문에 한반도는 남한과 북한으로 70년동안 분열되었다. 그로인해 남한에만 13만명의 이산가족이 발생했고 그들은 북한지역에 살고있는 부모와 형제자매, 그리고 친척들을 70년동안 만나지 못하고 늙어 죽어가고있다. 그아픔은 현재까지도 지속되고있다.

   ● 한국정부는 그동안 북한과 통일하기 위해 많은 노력을 해오고 있지만 주변국이 한국과 북한의 통일을 방해하고 있다. (미국. 중국, 일본)

   1. 한국과 북한의 통일에대한 미국생각
   미국은 표면적으로는 한반도 통일을 원한다고 항상 말한다. 하지만 그들의 진짜 속마음은 한반도 통일을 반대한다. 왜냐하면 미국은 70년동안 한국에게 많은 무기를 판매했고 엄청난 돈을 벌었다. 지속적으로 한국에게 무기를 판매하려면 한반도에서 전쟁이 종료되면 안되기때문이다. 그리고 동북아시아에서 중국의 영향력을 견제하려면 미국은 한국이 반드시 필요하기때문에 한국과 북한의 긴장된 대립을 계속 유지시켜 중국을 압박할수 있는 또다른 카드로 사용할수있고 미국의 영향력을 극대화 시킬수 있기때문이다.

   2. 중국
   중국도 한국과 북한의 통일에 반대한다.
   만약에 통일이 되면 민주주의 국가인 한국과 중국은 국경선을 접하게된다. 지금까지 남한과 중국의 완충지대였던 북한이 없어지게 되기때문에 중국에서는 당혹스럽다.
   그리고 통일이되면 첨단 무기로 무장한 한국군이 북한의 핵미사일까지 가지게된다.
   그리고 현재 남한에 주둔한 미군이 북쪽으로 이동해 중국의 접경지역까지 이전할수 있기때문이다.

   그리고 한국과 중국은 오랫동안 역사적으로도 수많은 전쟁을 했다. 두국가는 서로를 너무 잘알고있다. 한반도의 국가가 힘이 강했을때 중국의 과거 왕조들이 많이 힘들어했던 역사가 있기때문이다

   3. 일본
   일본은 한국과 북한의 통일을 매우 강하게 반대한다. 이유는 3가지이다
   첫째. 일본은 2차대전 패전국이었다. 그들은 전쟁배상금을 지불해야했고 그로인해 경제는 망했다. 그런데 때마침 한국전쟁이 발생함. 미국은 일본에게 막대한 돈을주고 전쟁물품을 생산하게했다. 그로인해 일본은 많은돈을 벌었고 일본은 경제대국으로 급성장 발전했다. 일본은 한반도에서 전쟁이 발생하기를 간절히 원한다

   두번째. 일본은 한국이 통일이되면 영토도 넓어지고 인구도 많아지고.. 전반적으로 한국의 힘이 강해지는것을 매우 싫어한다.
   일본은 한국을 침략해 36년동안 한국인들을 많이 죽이고 모든 자원들을 빼앗고 괴롭혔다. 한국이 통일되면 일본은 불안하다.

   세번째. 일본은 미국의 관심이 한국에게 쏠리고 일본에게 소홀해질까 걱정한다. 일본은 한국과 다른나라들이 친해지는것을 싫어한다. 특히 미국이 한국과 친해지는것을 방해하기위해 일본정부는 미국의원들에게 한국에게 도움이 되는 외교정책을 하지말라고 막대한돈을 주며 로비를했다. 이것은 수십년동안 실제로 있었던 사실이며 지금 현재도 일본의 로비활동은 계속되고 있다.

   Gwangjang market is a place of heritage of an older Korean way of doing things to make a living, in that people went there to sell and purchase things to make a living in my grandparent’s generation around 1950’s and naturally had to make east food available for the merchants and shoppers. It is not a place to find korean “cuisine.” Thats the equivalent to saying going to a flea market food vendor/cafeteria for the american cuisine. Netflix made it popular, but as someone who lived in Seoul for 12 years, I never went there a single time because my parents never took me there. Koreans who are looking for food, and “not just a fast and easy way to take care of a meal” would not venture out to that market. And you say you haven’t liked Korean food, but it makes me wonder what have you actually tried. Have you tried dakgalbi? Have you tried hanwoo? Have you tried haemulpajeon with makguli? Have you tried set menu Korean cuisine in a nice place?

    I think you mean how “Modern” is South Korea. Westernization and Modernization are not the same thing, otherwise you would have say countries like the United Arab Emirates are Western as well.

    We can say that South Korea is very modern in that it’s Top 10 Exports are:

    Electrical machinery, equipment: US$184.6 billion (30.5% of total exports)
    Machinery including computers: $77.7 billion (12.8%)
    Vehicles: $61.2 billion (10.1%)
    Mineral fuels including oil: $48.2 billion (8%)
    Plastics, plastic articles: $34.9 billion (5.8%)
    Optical, technical, medical apparatus: $27.8 billion (4.6%)
    Organic chemicals: $25.4 billion (4.2%)
    Iron, steel: $24.8 billion (4.1%)
    Ships, boats: $20.3 billion (3.4%)
    Articles of iron or steel: $10.5 billion (1.7%)

    We could also say that South Korea is Modern to the extant that many of the worlds electronics are made from Samsung, which is a popular international cooperation from South Korea.

    Now, in case you actually are asking how “Westernized” (the proper definition of Western) is South Korea, I would say that South Korea is “Western influenced” rather then “Westernized”.

    South Korea is “Western Influenced” in that the country:

    Is a Democracy
    A staunch and traditional ally of the United States
    Has imported Western Pop Culture and made into their own Pop (K-Pop)
    Has a large population percentage that adheres to Christianity, about 30%, but a lot of Korean Christians tend to blend the religion with some elements of Confucianism, an ancient Chinese Philosophy.
    But that is as far as I can go in regards on guessing how “Western Influenced” South Korea is. But despite such influence and modernization, South Korea tends to have a society much different and more strict then Western society in that it’s still adheres mostly to Buddhist and Confucianist values. But take this part of my answer with a grain of salt.

    Korea is suffering from fine dust from China. China is harming the health of Koreans and ruining the natural landscape, which is also damaging the tourism industry. China is a terrible country that only harms its neighbors.

    The reason tea culture is not that widespread in Korea compared to japan and china is that historically and geographically the water in Korea is impeccably clean and naturally purified. While in china and japan people drink tea to remove the impurities in water while boiling them. Btw I really enjoyed your video and hope you have a wonderful time!

    S Korea has developed so so fast from the scratch to the current status. Naturally, the life tempo in Korea is amazingly fast, especially in Seoul.
    So, if you sought to make friends or communication with locals, not easy for such a short time. Everybody there is just busy. Longer staying, you will find different facades.

    God it hurts watching people eat bibimbap like that. You have to mix it with gochujang. Also a lot of westerners come into Korea and go to those markets but really you got to go to department stores and get some food. Also Korean national food is Fried chicken. I know it’s easy to fall in trap of trying to try out Korean traditional foods but go to issac’s toast, get some friend chicken, get some jokbal.
