In the Dominican Republic if you see colmados closed from 12pm to 2pm, it's because old-school owners wants to take a break and be able to eat their meals. When locals stares you down, it's because they are curious. They never seen you before so to some of them you are more like a celebrity. Bro, nobody is out to get you. Try not using common sense in your own country and let's see what happens. Some foreigners tend to do things they would never do in their country.
