Here's the problem with Disney, as their parks attendance increased they never increased the amount of attractions. They eliminate an attraction to replace it with a new one and by time the new one is built people don't realize all it did was replace an old one..
Disney, please sell an Ugly Christmas Sweater Figment plushy! I’d so buy one.
Fantastic 👍👌
The problem I have with Genie+ isn't the price. It's the effect it has on DAS. Dozens of vloggers have proven that the wait times posted are often inflated, sometimes by as much as twice the actual wait time, which is shady in and of itself, but when it comes to DAS, our return times are based on those inflated times. So, if we were able to wait in the traditional queue for say, Rise of the Resistance, we might get an hour long wait. But because the posted wait time is 120 minutes well…that's how long we have to wait, not the hour the line actually is. The inflated times are there to push people to use Genie+ and in doing so it punishes DAS users who already have a hard enough time enjoying the parks as it is.
The Animal Kingdom is on the cusp of needing to be renamed. My suggestion? “Disney’s Kingdom With Not Many Animals But Lots of Big Blue People Riding Flying Lizards, Polynesia With No Animals But a Little Pig and Rooster, and a Yeti That Never Existed”. Admittedly, the title may be a little long but at least it’s accurate.
The only part I care about staying at Dinoland is the boneyard because I have so many awesome memories as a kid having the time of my life which is why they could turn it into Indiana jones. They could retrack and put cushions on dinosaur and retheme it to the ride at Disneyland. They could then bring over the roller coaster in Asia to put where primeval whirl was
The Magic has disappeared with all thise things! I will not go and spend thousands and thousands of dollars to go to Disney and have to be on the damn phone all day for everything you do! Just not fun and not magical!!!!
Soarin’ Over California is a much better ride than Soarin’ Over The World, primarily because there is no wonky CGI and the smell enhancements are spot on!
He didn't "step down." Anytime the sentence contains the words "effective immediately," they were fired.
A Moana boat ride is a good idea
Disney's issues run deeper than the magic being lost at the parks. The problems at the parks are just one of the symptoms of Disney's decline. Sad but I guess nobody can be on top forever.
I still don't understand how Moana will fit in with the concept of future world at EPCOT. It makes me a bit concerned for the, well, future of future world. I wish movie IPs had stayed out of Epcot in general, but it wasn't as bad when they were contained to the world showcase and Nemo (which actually fits in well with its pavilion).
Glad someone is posting a “reality” based video on what Iger will do! The $29 genie+ price is very upsetting to this passholder. $15 was fine for a family of 4. But $29😒
Disney suck
F Cast of Disney
I just got back from a week long vacation at Disney and Universal. We were a group of six ranging from 72yo to 6yo. We didn't bought the Disney+ or any of the fast passes and what not. We had fun, we got into almost everything, got in rides for the younger and older ones and also rides for us in our 30's. We spent about 60 minutes in some rides but we often found that when it said it was 60 min waiting time it was actually less. We prepared the day before with wraps, sandwiches and snacks so we would have to spend as much cash or time for food and only went and tried anything if we really wanted it and split it overall it was great and everyone had fun.
Also we found that at the end of the day, it's better to get in the high demand rides, a lot of people leave early and the waiting time gets shortened.
Let's hope Bob Iger can fix those prices & lower them, as he has allot of work within those 2 years. But I think a Moana boat ride & land at AK would fit well in Epcot. Cause a walkthrough won't be enough. But Dinosaur, Restaurantosaurus + dino digs needs to be kept. The carnival area needs to be rethemed into a frontier style land or an Ice-Age land.
At least they got rid of Chapek. He was poison to the company and the Disney experience. Hopefully things will improve and I will choose to become a Disney fan again.
We've given up on ever going to Disney World again…the standby line looks very much like "you actually won't get to ride this ride at all." They really do want the parks to be a luxury experience.
Considering how the theme parks are carrying the rest of the corporation on their backs I can’t foresee many changes forthcoming soon. Wall Street analysts forecast Igers stay a little longer than two years. It will take him longer to correct Chapeks damage. If a recession is on the horizon as predicted Iger is certainly the individual to lead. Will he make any attempts to sell Disney to Apple. I wouldn’t be surprised. Lots remains to be seen.
Bob Iger is back. Happy days may be around the corner
I have to wonder how much better the 50th celebrations would have been and how different if Bob Iger had been in post?
Is there such a thing as an off-season anymore? I heard the WDW is always crowded. I remember the last time I went was back in 2006 during the first two weeks of December, anticipating it was going to be not so busy. Boy, was I wrong!!! I heard parents pull their kids out of school nowadays to take advantage of the not so crowded times!! My parents (especially my mother) would never have allowed me or my sisters to get behind on our schoolwork. We had to go when school was out; We had no choice!!!
Step down!? HE WAS FIRED
I don’t think a lot of people understand that bob iger was the one overseeing the plans for price surges and Disney genie as a whole way before he stepped down. It takes a solid few years to develop softwares like that and he knew for a fact what was happening and what was going to happen before he stepped down. Chepack was simply his scapegoat and things will not get better with him back in power they will only get worse
Chapek was fired. Not a second too soon.
Iger forced out the man that oversaw more new gates opening than any Disney CEO, Michael Eisner. Once Iger took the reins he steadily increased prices on everything and started many cutbacks a few of which include no expiration tickets gone , magical express gone , charging for parking at Disney resort hotels, no more free fast pass and so many more. Now we have a park reservation system that was put in place when he was in charge, different priced ticket depending on the time of year etc. The man has no interest in making the guest happy just milking every last red cent out of them. Chapek sucked granted but remember he was hand picked by Iger himself. I hate to be negative but Iger will just continue to do harm. He will probably ultimately sell off and divide most of Disney to other corporations. The only hope is someone new will get the parks corporation and return to Walts ideals.
I love water/boat rides almost the most
Was due for a Disney world trip but can’t afford it anymore
Surge pricing is scraping the bottom of the barrel. Lowest of the low. 😒
Just went in October (WDW)!!! Can't wait to get back!!!! Genie+ was amazing! Hope to go back next trip for Christmastime again!!
Actually just booked to go to Disney end of December. Haven’t been in years since Pandora was first being built and now as an adult I was like “were tickets always this expensive” 😅 o well I needed a vacay after my first post grad job tbh
The investment in Disney + is ruining the company. They should have just kept it all on Hulu.
tbh i don't really mind genie+ or reservation passes. they make sense to me as offerings, especially bc that's how other parks handle fast passes. the system they use for genie+ can be really frustrating, but the concept itself is fine.
the part that pisses me off is all the price increases everywhere else with a simultaneous decrease in quality. if prices increase bc of inflation, fine. if prices increase bc the quality is improving, awesome! but when the prices go up and the quality goes down, it's really aggravating and disappointing as a consumer. these are the things I hope iger will improve on.
How can I send you a video?
So excited to be there on Thursday night!!! We’re doing the Mickey Christmas party, then Universal the next day, then 2 more Disney days 💕
Any word when dining plan is coming back?
Awesome videos. I'm so curious, how did this YouTuber learn so much about everything in Disney World. Does she go there every week?
He did NOT step down…
He was fired.
Just came back from Disney. It is my 4th time in the parks and, tbh, the magic is not there anymore. If you did not buy ginnie+, then you are up to waiting over 2 hs for the main attractions and having to save a spot for hours in order to watch the parades or the fireworks at Magic Kingdom. Let's not forget that Disney was originally intended for kids, so having privilege linked to the fact that you have wealthier parents does not seem coherent with the Disney spirit. Paredes are either gone or shortened, the night parades with all the lights are gone too and character meets were chaotic at best. Rides were constantly breaking down, and those are usually the main rides. Not even the merchandise is as good as it used to be. Not the Disney vacation I remembered anymore
Disney is on the chopping block. There company most likely will go bankrupt it should it is to big of a company.
vegan burger!!!!!
Bob Chapek is worse than the guy from "One Froggy Evening" who saw nothing but flying dollar signs and tried to exploit Michigan J. Frog's special gift, therefore should be committed and driven to depression also. I'd happily gift wrap the Infinity Stones for Thanos before I put Chapek in charge of anything.
Re Black Panther: hubby didn’t really care for it but I loved it. It is very different from the standard Marvel movie, but I thought it was interesting, especially given the circumstances. It was a bit slow in parts but this was a very character driven film, not just action and special effects.
I've had 3 trips in the last 4 years (so both Iger and Chapek years, pre/post pandemic) and other than learning Genie+ my trips never felt that different from each other. But I will say that you MUST plan your day if you aren't already familiar with the parks/frequent visitor. Me and my in-laws did the last trip together, and my parents and sister also were there the same week. I planned our trip pretty meticulously and took advantage of dining reservations 60 days out and Genie + whereas but my sister wasn't able to do the same and our experiences were vastly different (ours was amazing, theirs was stressful and they did much fewer rides and had a hard time with meals). No matter who's in charge you must plan your trip out or you won't have a magical time, period, unless you're okay missing a lot of things and are happy with whatever has the lowest waits that day.
New ceo just took over, so hopefully give it time and keep voicing your dislikes and boycotting the parks. Nothing else will work. If you keep going, the prices won’t drop.
