Hello! This video is the 9th of many videos documenting my trip to JAPAN! All shot on a GoPro Hero5.
And so we’ve arrived in Kumamoto. Our first stop was the Kumamoto Castle. Unfortunately, 2 years ago there was a massive earthquake that severely damaged the grounds and its buildings. Which will apparently take up to 2 decades to fix! In order to repair one of the damaged walls, each fallen stone will be placed in its original spot. The dedication to this repair is insane!
We then move onto the Tatsuda Nature Park. Inside we travel through a bamboo forest, explore the Koshoken teahouse, and then walk within the graveyard for the Kumamoto Daimyo Hosokawa Clan. We did this all while I got bit by a plethora of mosquitos. We finish off the night by taking a stroll through the Suizenji Jojuen Garden.
~While staying in Kobe, we took a day trip to Kyoto, but I was unable to get any footage. Two points of interest I was unable to film were the Arashiyama Bamboo forest and the Fushimi Inari Shrine. But in this vlog you can see a bamboo forest and some tori gates in Kumamoto’s Inari Shrine. Similar yet less touristy.
