During the Autumn Festival (紅葉祭り) period in Kawaguchiko (河口湖), day and night experiences are amazingly different. During the daytime, you can watch Mt. Fuji (富士山) and relax under the colorful maple tree (もみじ) beside Kawaguchiko lake (河口湖). At nighttime, you will be overwhelmed by the illuminated maple tree along a kilometer-long sidewalk (紅葉ライトアップ). The festival’s main event in the evening is in the maple corridor (もみじ回廊) which will be illuminated from 5 pm to 10 pm. There are also souvenir and food stands in the area.
