Disney + is not making a profit yet. They had an operating loss of $1.5 billion during the quarter. Who knows if and when it will. Paycheck thinks it will become profitable in 2024. Anyone really believe that?
When you miss Eisner you know things are bad. Eisner at least understood the value of creating original content.

Disney Cruise Line is not a US registered company. It’s registered in the UK and the ships are all registered in Nassau, The Bahamas. It’s global reach has always gone beyond the US market. To think this company is based around one market would be shortsighted

I love it when the cruise ship was a rumor and distwitter was demanding proof and calling out “false”, and here we are. Thanks Tom and WDWNT.
Tom said buying the new ship was not a good look after announcing layoffs. But the new ship will create thousands of new jobs. But most of the new jobs will be over seas… literally, over seas
Good grief another price increase. Also, buying that cruise reeks of some old Eisner cost cutting and building on the cheap. Let's just slap a theme on top of a pre built. The old ships have a timeless luxury design versus the new one.
The ship is going to Asia so 18 of the 19 floors are for slot machines.

I don't know if there are enough people who have money to pay premium for Disney cruises. Disney has been raising prices like crazy pricing out a lot of people. Chapek has soured a lot of people on Disney.
Why do you say American cruisers would take umbrage with DIsney's purchase of the ship? I wouldn't mind sailing on it. There is planty of construction left to Disney-fy it.

Disney needs more rides in the parks.
Well, thanksgiving 2023 is the year I'm meeting my parents for the semi annual meetup in Orlando. While we'll be staying at Shades (my father loves the thanksgiving buffet and it's a good deal) other attractions will be getting our money. Nothing says thank you to our active duty military and retired vets like blackout dates. That's ok, based on Thanksgiving 2021 other attractions are more than happy for the custom. And who wouldn't want to spend an entire day at Gatorland, who let military in for free?
So Disney is not only increasing ticket prices and planning to lay off employees but then they go and obtain yet ANOTHER cruise ship? 🤔 Hope their hardcore park fans are getting ready for still another price hike.
With all the strategy needed to plan a Disney vacation I’m surprised they haven’t come out with a Disney 101 class. Of course I’m kidding, Chapek ,don’t get any ideas .
Though i do want more disney cruise ships so they can be add im more parts of the us and do different itenaries you shouldnt cut people from the parks or the cruise ships the guest cast interaction are huge for the disney experience thats something universal still hasnt fully gotten and forget six flags for that but if chapek leaves thats the first thing the next ceo should address
Personally I think buying the global dream could be really cool. I don't think it's a big deal that it's not a disney build from scratch and it could be great. Honestly one of the few good things Chapstick has done
