The Magnificent Shrine in Central Kyoto | The Yasaka Shrine | Kyoto

The Yasaka Shrine is one of the most important shrines in Kyoto, visited by thousands of people every year and renowned for the festival Gion Matsuri, held every July.
In the main sanctuary of Yasaka Shrine, the deity Susanoo-no-Mikoto is enshrined with his wife and their eight children.
On the shrine grounds, there are also several smaller shrines that are dedicated to other deities, like the deity of beauty or marriage.
