What can you see in a day trip to Kyoto from Tokyo? Today we’re using our JR passes to blast down south by bullet train to Kyoto, the old capital, and cultural heart of Japan.
In Kyoto we check out the enormous Kyoto Station, one of the biggest buildings in Japan, head out to see the 10,000 Torii Gates of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and marvel at the 40m tall bamboo groves of Arashiyama.
At the end of the day we load up on ekiben and souvenirs and make the journey back to Tokyo.
