Boeing B-29 Superfortress FIFI Bombadier View #b29 #ww2

On 9/20/22, I was lucky enough to ride in BoeingB-29 Superfortress FIFI & witness the Bombadier’s View. Growing up in Dayton, Ohio (birthplace of aviation), I would often go to the National Air Force Museum & was enamored with Bockscar. This was the Boeing B-29 Superfortress that dropped the atomic bomb “Fat Man” over Nagasaki in World War II. I have a fascination with the bombers & always stated that I would love to ride in the bombadier’s seat. They have the best view unless your being shot at!
My dad turned this dream into a reality by surprising me on my birthday with a flight on FIFI. This plane was sitting in the California desert until the Commemorative Air Force restored it. This is one of the most incredible experiences I have encountered. It was the biggest rush when they fired those engines up to 8800 HP and took off on the runway. If you ever have the opportunity to ride on a B-29 don’t hesitate! Only two are still flying, Doc & FIFI.
