Mt. Kita-Dake | The best view to see Mt. Fuji!

Kita-Dake is the highest peak in the Southern Japan Alps and the second highest peak in Japan! Its roughly a 3 Hour drive if you live around Tokyo. I am lucky enough to own a vehicle so I drove to Narada (which is a bus station to pick up hikers to take to the trailhead) you cannot drive a private vehicle to the trailhead.
This hike is roughly 5-6 hours to the top depending on your skill level. There is 2 huts you can camp at or even stay at A hut. The first hut (Shirane Oike Hut) took around 3 hours to get to. I just rested here for a bit so I can bust out the rest of the trail to get to the next hut which is only 40 minutes away from the peak! I got to the next hut at approximately in 3 1/2 hours, which they served curry or ramen till 1530! How dope right!? You can get a tent site for 1000 yen and there’s around 20 spots, plus a hut if you want to be bougie.
Once we woke up around 5am to the beautiful sunrise to show off Mt. Fuji (forgot to video it because I was just in the moment). I left my tent and gear so I can get to the peak of Mt. Kita Dake as fast as possible and basically after that we simply went back packed up and went down the way came. It took around 3 hours to get back down.

I got most of my information from this site. So thank you!
