I left the small town of Kusatsu, Japan without knowing where I would end up later that day. I decided to book a train journey going to Fukushima in northern Japan. It cost $112 for three trains, two of which were super fast bullet trains. The third train covered a distance of 258 kilometers or 160 miles in just 65 minutes, including making two stops.

There has been a big problem lately with fake accounts impersonating Youtubers, posting comments claiming that you've won a prize and should contact them to receive it. They will then ask you to pay for shipping or something else and scam you out of money. Don't try to contact them. You can tell that it isn't my account because if you click on the channel icon (for example the photo of me on the left) you will see that these fake accounts have no videos or subscribers. I delete the comments and block the accounts, but they just create new ones. You might consider reporting those accounts as fake, which helps Youtube to get rid of them. You can report them by clicking on their channel icon and then going to the About page.
Try to find an onsen where you can film at. It mite have to be some private place though. I think you should have gone with the film crew to the onsen at Kusatsu.
I think they mite have been able to negotiate a permition for filming. But oh well lets hope that it will happen in the next place. ๐
Ever wonder why the room is so affordable?I wouldn't trust anyone declaring the nuclear disaster is over.Tons of radioactive water is flowing into the ocean still. They can't contain all the contaminated water.Thats just facts they can't deny. What else are they downplaying?
To me it has happened 3 times but I ignored ๐คจSuch a stupid thing ๐Anyway….nice video ๐Thumbs up for the great work ๐๐Thanks for sharing and take care ๐โ
O FUKUSHIMA FAST WIFI AND UNLIMITED RANGE OF RADIATION, ROOMS VERY CHEAP, PEOPLE LOVE IT SO MUCH THAT THEY COME AND NEVER LEAVE
i was on a Shinkansen once trying to get to Fukuoka and noticed an older man was in my seat. Politely showed him my ticket but he would not move. He kept telling me something in Japanese and obviously I had no idea what he was saying. Turned out not only was I in the wrong car, I was on the entirely wrong train, going in the wrong direction. ๐Gotta love Japan.
Gabriel what do you use as a footwear ๐
Japan country are so clean every where u move around… Japanese are so polite and make no noise..Silent is Golden…
So do you have to wear masks in public in Japan.
The Japanese habit of bowing …………Oh my God that takes professionalism to the next level. Hope they are color blind and do it to all and not just whites……….
Fukushima is also a prefecture (sort of like a province with Fukushima city as the capital. Which is probably why the disaster was named for it. If something happens in Oklahoma it doesnโt mean that it has to be anywhere near Oklahoma City.
To bad plane travel is not like that train. Love trains. If I was Jeff Bezos, I would just build high speed trains connecting phx, la, vegas, co springs, salt lake, el paso, tucson, and maybe san francisco.
Impressive japanese culture, my brother lived in japan since 2013 and he tells me about japan culture , tradition and lifestyles .. from an overall observation of japan , i could say that japan is presumably one of the finest country to lived in.
Why is every town on the face of the earth faster mbps than my high speed internet in a metro area in USA?
Amazing journey so far dude! Feels like I'm travelling with you๐
13:35 Green car is definitely the premier car which man who must be rich ride on๐ง.
What a beautiful city!
Gabriel you should've purhcased the JR pass – it enables you travelling week or two for fixed rate
Brilliant vlog Gab great travelling on the trains very interesting love to see Japan ! Really enjoying seeing this stuff.
I saw you like very much Sake pass by Niigata they had very great Sake there because the high quality rice they have in area.
You seem to enjoy traveling Japan or at least you look more happy there than other countries.
Japan have one of most beautiful trees and flowers garden. I don't know if they have any now but if you search its incredible and they have a park that's only very tall bamboo trees is amazing. Enjoy
Gabe your train skills are amazing! It seems like wherever I am in the world and using the train I always mess up! Japan included!!! Great series !๐
Really enjoyed the video Gabriel, love random spontaneous travel and the excitement of not knowing what direction the day will take. Fyi check out my friends band called Fukushima Dolphin ๐ฌ on YouTube
I'm enjoying this Japan Travel. Keep going to northern point.
Super cool trains.๐๐๐ฏ๐ต
Japan was my first international solo trip. I was so confused. I loved it. Being able to see my perceived sense of confusion reflected externally is one of the reasons I love being in foreign places. I don't know what makes something foreign but yeah. Great video. Great music!
Amazing journey!
I'm reading the comments… wow! I should visit Japan. thanks for sharing, enjoy
The metros are so clean and the staff so very helpful!! Great video Gabriel, you are so calm I would have been a little more stressed! ~Cara ๐
The Japanese rail staff are very impressive.
I was in Japan in 2009 and did it on a budget, its a misconception that it's expensive. Buy the Japan Rail ticket before you arrive in Japan if you plan to usethe JR rail to get around, it also covers the ferry to the island near Hiroshima well it did in 2009.
Gyoza! Yes, the best
Ok this video is a Friday night trippy one.
Having to stuff 3 train tickets simultaneously into one slot at the turnstile? Who knew? A perfect illustration of the advice to ASK FOR HELP from official transit staff who are usually willing to be helpful (and in Japan, amazingly so).
Hi Gabriel, will you be heading to Sendai? I lived there for 3 years, so if you want some suggestions of what to do, let me know. Probably the most famous place near Sendai is Matsushima, a short train ride from Sendai. It's one of Japan's 3 great views. Let me know if you want more ideas. I'm really enjoying your Japan videos! By the way, a few videos ago, you were at a vending machine and saw something that you thought was yoghurt, but it was actually cream corn soup. If you find it again you should try it. It's incredible!๐
Tsubasa!
