[swipe 👈🏻] Those looking to see a different side of Japan can take a trip down to Iwate Prefecture and visit Hiraizumi. The small town has Motsu-ji, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is less Japanese Garden and more of an open parkland. To truly take in the sites, rent a bike and ride through the surrounding area. With the exception of a few photo opportunities, as well as a trinket stall or two, Hiraizumi is a world away from the bustling metropolises that often are associated with Japan.
