your work is good man, i had no idea there's not a lot of eng speakin youtubers in Japan, subscribed bcause it's actually good stuff!
don't worry about other people potentially coming back to Japan and making videos, your videos are refreshing and your work stands out! you are one of a kind! i'm big fan of your videos, Adrien 😀
so exciting now I can see what visa or visa's I can get for like 10 years of stay 😓
As a Youtube beginner like you I just want to recommend you to forget about the numbers, i.e., views, click-through-rate or retention time. I think Youtube is an excellent way of growing, improve ourselves and thrive to avoid stagnation. This doesn’t depend on the numbers I mentioned above, what it really matters is that you feel every new video was done with effort and seeking to be better, the rest is fine but as it does not depend on us should be less important.
People coming from abroad don't make the same content. The formulaic travel content found on Youtube don't feel very much the same as yours. But I don't know what the algorithm might dictates.
This was recommended to me by YouTube Home. Excellent work my friend. You've got quite the eye. Keep it up!
Yes finally! I for one really enjoy this channel and will continue to watch. I don't think I've seen any other Japan based youtuber that does photography like your channel.
Don’t worry… I am happy to watch a fellow Swiss French countryman photographing Japan, and as such, you have certainly very little competition. 😊
Just keeping doing you Adrien. Yeah, people will be back and will make their own content, but those of us here watch you for YOUR content. I look forward to seeing more 😊
I’ve ALWAYS wanted to Travel there. I want to learn the language too.
I've been devouring japan content like this the last couple years, and I have no idea how I missed this channel (*shakes fist at algorithm*). You're aesthetic is on point and right up my alley.
I saw this video because I'm planning to visit over winter so the border situation has been on my radar for a long time. I'm also planning to shoot video and photos while im there (and in the future), so seeing your attitude on sharing/competing in this space (not that I am) is refreshing. subbed
I’ve been missing home for a while now but I might get the chance to travel back early next year 🎉
I’d love to catch you on the Street Adrian ✌🏼
Hi Adrien, I'll start with a hot take…you never had a competitive advantage because you were one of the few English speaking photography YT channels in Japan. I'd go so far to say you're not in competition with the handful of talented English-speaking photography channels in/covering Japan (e.g. Ulysses Aoki, EYExplore, etc…or the frequent visitors like Samuel Streetlife, Joe Allam, etc.). Why I subscribed to you is for YOU—your point-of-view, your style of presenting your photography, your thoughts.
I think some YTr's get an unhealthy (unrealistic) idea that subscriptions are of high value to the subscriber and scarce (limited in quantity) such that a subscription to one channel is a subscription not given to another channel—i.e. a zero-sum game. On the contrary, subscriptions to the subscriber are not seen through a zero-sum game transactional lens, but rather on a 1:1 basis to the channel being evaluated by the subscriber who asks themselves the question, "Is this channel's content worth seeing regularly?". Subscriptions have zero economic value to the subscriber and are unlimited in supply.
The questions you have to ask yourself is, "What makes my content, my thoughts, my style of storytelling valuable to those who have subscribed?" Because I can guarantee to you that many of us who have subscribed to your channel are already subscribers to the channels I named above—and most likely a lot more around photography in Japan, photography in general, and travel photography OF Japan, but we still subscribed to your channel.
You is why we subscribe and watch—not because you create videos in English and because you happen to be in Japan.
(as an aside, if you want to read more about market behaviors, you can google "economics of scarcity" and "economics of abundance", focusing on market behavior characteristics)
Keep it up, I loooooooveee it
