東北の花風景 男鹿あじさい寺 雲昌寺の紫陽花/I was able to view and record the hydrangea at Unshoji Temple in Kitaura, Oga City, Akita Prefecture Japan, which was selected as one of the best views of Japan in 2017 and became famous nationwide as a hydrangea temple on the Oga Peninsula.
The Hydrangea of Unshoji Temple has increased from one hydrangea that the deputy chief priest Shuun Konaka was fascinated to 2000 over a long period of more than 15 years.
Here, it is characteristic that the blue hydrangea flowers bloom densely with a unique cultivation method.
In addition, special illumination viewing is also held at night, and the deputy chief priest’s commitment can be seen in the unique blue lighting that makes only the blue hydrangea stand out in the dark night.
死ぬまでに行きたい！世界の絶景-日本の絶景編2017のベスト絶景に選ばれ、男鹿半島のあじさい寺として全国的に有名になった秋田県男鹿市北浦にある雲昌寺(うんしょうじ)の紫陽花を観覧、撮影をさせていただきました。
雲昌寺の紫陽花は副住職の古仲宗雲さんが心を奪われたという1株の紫陽花から15年以上の長い歳月をかけて2000株まで増やし、独自の育成方法で青い紫陽花の花が密集して花を咲かせるのが特徴的です。
また、夜間にはライトアップ特別観覧も実施され、闇夜に青い紫陽花の花だけを幻想的に際立たせるような独特の青色照明にも、副住職のこだわりが見られ、美しい青を放つ姿から「雲昌寺ブルー」とも呼ばれています。
2022年は観測史上最も早い梅雨明けの影響で、日当たりの良い場所のアジサイは日焼けをしてしまっていましたが、青い日本海の景色を背景に、境内が一面青に染まる景色は絶景そのものでした。
