  1. To Add. Rizal has Monuments in London, China, Spain, Paris, Japan and USA. I think there is also in Germany… Jose Rizal is considered Genius by many Historians, At 5 years old he can sketch like a pro and can mold a clay pot something like that in perfection, he learnt Spanish by reading Spanish Bible. As young he wrote a book/poem already that impressed the professors. Rizal Graduated in College at the age of 15 with Master's Degree. He got a lot of masters during his teenage life lol.. yes it's true. He got a lot of profession he's a scientist, Doctor (Opthalmologist) Journalist, Poet, polymath, visual artist, Revolutionary.. cant remember other profession he had. But he's a super genius. He even loved by women got of relationship with pretty girls.. filipinos would agree if they read this.. Rizal also a popular name in Indonesia and named their child as Rizal (They said they got this name because of our Jose Rizal .. I dunno )

  2. Hi everybody, I hope you enjoy today’s video where I’m discovering this amazing and historical park in Manila. Have a great rest of the week πŸ‘πŸŒΊπŸ‡΅πŸ‡

  3. Why keep on calling that "dirty ice cream"? In the province we call that sorbetes. Please stop calling them that, because it may affect the trade of sorbetes vendors. They are one of the hardworking people along the streets, rain or shine. Let's call them plainly as "sorbetes" or "ice cream".

  4. The irony about Rizal that he was never advocating for an independent Philippines. He was just for political reforms, and for the Philippines to be a regular province of Spainβ€”with a representation in the Spanish parliament.

  5. Very eye opening and interesting video Janus πŸ‘ŒThanks for sharing your travels in the Philippines πŸ‘

  6. 14:46 In wisdom park even the Golden Rule is included. It just shows that all religions of the world are rooted in ancient wisdom, yet for the people it's easier to fight over their differences than what binds them together. Sad that!
Janus it was a refreshingly interesting watch and tour. Much appreciated! πŸ€©πŸ’–πŸ€—

  7. How did Rizal accomplish all that in 35 years. Beautiful park, quite the history there. Cool you got to see a video in the making by his monument. I haven’t seen you eat ice cream in a few videos. That purple looked good. Loved the wisdom walk sayings. Need to use them in my art. Was this 2021? Have a super weekend…

  8. I'm impressed how you do research about our National hero Dr. Jose Rizal and tell it to the world through video…New subriber here brotherπŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸ‘..i'm not skipping the ads…

  9. It's the best monument of our national hero Dr Jose Rizal only that building at the back shouldn't be there it was an issue because it become a photo bummer.

  10. Thank you Sir for showing us again most of all, all the corners of the Luneta Park.
Thank you for all the deep historical details of the place you acquired and pass to us
specially about Jose Rizal himself that refreshes and revived our knowledge about him. πŸ‘

  11. Thank you for your extensive information about our national hero, Jose Rizal. He was a contemporary and friend of my grandfather. Both were involved in our struggle for Philippine independence.

  12. This video has full of history and wisdom 😊 Wonderful! Thanks so much, Janus πŸ‘ Btw, it seems that your video attract this time many viewer from Asia πŸ™‚

  13. You can also visit the Manila American cemetery in BGC, Taguig for another beautiful, historical landmark. Looking forward to see it in your videos. Just a tip, when you're nearing the entrance, don't show the guard that you're recording or something, nor tell them that it's for commercial use, once you're in the park, you may take videos, photos, etc. Just be discreet with your camera esp upon entering, it's a really beautiful place so I hope you don't miss out on that. Thank you.

  14. If december sir too much people there speciall parade of artist and countdown night december 31 at night too much people there

  15. The statues exibiting Rizal's execution are in the exact location where it took place. There's a stone marker there where his body fell. His remains are buried in the main monument of the park.

  16. Visit also the modern manila BGC High street, BGC Forbes town is nice to chill hang out, the venice grand canal mall, salcedo market in makati opens every weekends only research for it. Enjoy the philippines stay longer here there's alot more to explore in 7640 island of the philippines.

  17. I've seen/watched a lot of foreign vloggers comin' in our country and I'd say, it's very impressive to see people like you taking the time to research and appreciate the country's history besides the food and sceneries, which is not very common to see here in YT these days. And artistic too!
Hope you get the best time here in our country πŸ‡΅πŸ‡
Best of luck to your future travels/endeavors

  18. Hi! Next time visit some nice and clean places/neighborhood in the whole of metro manila not always in a slum and very chaotic ambiance. Nothing against it but, i think it's nice to feature beautiful and clean places in ph. But this video is very informative. πŸ™‚ take care! I'm a new subsciber.

  19. I have to say Janus that this was one of the best videos you have ever produced. You really did a great job on this one and I`m sure all your followers would agree. I am glad you are now engaging with the locals, makes such a difference and shows how warm and friendly these people are. That conversation piece in the cafe with the chicken was also priceless !! Have a good one Janus !!

  20. The park is so beautiful with rich historyπŸ‘ I learned a lot from your videos too. Thank you for sharing. BTY, did they check your hand temperature at the park entrance?

  21. Dirty ice cream or what we normally call "sorbetes" uses coconut milk (and/or carabao milk), hence it's unique taste.

Ube or purple yam is used a lot here for desserts and snacks. I notice a lot of foreign vloggers falling in love with it.
Hope you also got to try Taho, another sweet treat made from Soy, with caramel syrup and tapioca pearls. πŸ™‚

  22. We called sorbetes the original Filipino name or ice cream in cone…Dirty ice cream is unappropriate name to call it….

  23. There was a biopic on Rizal (starring Cesar Montano) you might be interested in seeing. But before watching, i suggest to read first a brief synopsis of his 2 novels so you won't get confused when you watch. Because scenes from the novels are inserted throughout the film (the scenes in black and white). And also so that you would understand that part in the movie where Rizal, on the eve of his execution, had some kind of dream or hallucination and the main character from his novel (C. Ibarra/Simoun) comes to life, demanding Rizal to change the ending to his last novel. (This is just something the filmmakers came up with and not something that actually happened.)

  24. Welcome to ph man! Mabuhay! Explore the beauty of the country not only in the mega cities their but also the natural greenest exotic views in the provinces like Davao cebu Iloilo etc

  25. surely you are scandanavian due to your accent. but from where? norway, denmark, netherlands or
    sweden?

  26. let me guess, you are using a go pro 7? its not very clear. maybe 1080p resolution?. hope you can get a 4k go pro 11 for clearer videos.

  27. Congratulations for a well presented, well researched video about Jose Rizal.. I was touched by the presentation.

  28. Very well articulated video of Rizal Park in Manila. You can make good documentary film of any subject. Awesome guy. πŸ‘

  29. You know more of our National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal than some of my Filipino compatriots. Thanks for the historical info.

  30. AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL VLOG. πŸ‘β€πŸ‘YOU ARE NOT JUST AN AMAZING VLOGGER BUT YOU ARE ALSO AN AMAZING NARRATOR AND HISTORIAN. THANKS FOR YOUR AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL VLOG. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR YOU TO VISIT THE AMERICAN MEMORIAL CEMETERY IN TAGUIG BGC. I'M SURE YOU WILL LIKE THAT PLACE BECAUSE YOU LIKE MORE ABOUT HISTORICAL PLACES.AND THAT IS VERY BEAUTIFUL, VERY CLEAN AND PEACEFUL PLACE. THE MAPS OF ALL THE PLACES IN THE PHILIPPINES INVOLVED DURING THE JAPANESE WAR ARE DISPLAYED THERE ON THE WALLS OF THE MEMMORIAL STRUCTURE AS WELL AS THE NAMES OF ALL THE AMERICAN AND THE FILIPINO SOLDIERS WHO DIED DURING THE FIGHT AGAINST THE JAPANESE FORCES.
