Once a year at the Miare Festival, three Goddesses (two coming from Okitsu-miya in Okinoshima and Nakatsu-miya in Oshima) gather at Hetsu-miya, the main holy structure of Munakata Taisha. The festival symbolizes traditions of worship at the shrine and its associated heritage sites. This live stream begins as the the tow goddesses make the journey to the mainland from Oshima.
This year about 160 boats participated in the run.
Enjoy!

I wish I had caught this live.
This was another awesome livestream 🥰👍🏽
I came in a little late too Nick, but this looked amazing – what a spectacle with all those boats on calm waters and with sunny skies – great way to spend a Saturday!
素晴らしい映像をありがとうございます。
地元人ですがこれほどの臨場感がある映像を見るのははじめてです。
漁師さん達の海への感謝と敬意が感じられます。かっこいいですね。
Such an amazing feeling to be part of a tradition and convoy of beautiful boats! Actually, the tradition of no women is not uncommon in Japan to appease female spirits. ⛵ 🚢 🗽🙏
A beautiful day for a wonderful festival! Thank you…domo arigatou…for posting this! Sugoii!
Close call there! But the female dieties protected the boats from disaster hehe
