🍃 If you’re visiting the remote and mountainous Iya Valley, be sure to make a pilgrimage to the rare suspension bridges made of hand-woven vines! 🍃 Only three of these bridges survive today and the largest and most easily accessed (Iya Kazurabashi, pictured) is 45 metres long, suspended 14 metres above the water – so not for anyone with a fear of heights! 😲 📍The bridges are now reinforced with steel cables and are rebuit every 3 years for added sturdiness. GETTING HERE: Iya Kazurabashi can be reached by bus from JR Awa Ikeda (60 mins) and JR Oboke stations (20 mins). #VisitJapanAU #Tradition
