There were many events organized in connection the start of the Reiwa Era, marking the ascension of Emperor Naruhito to the Chrysanthemum Throne. One was a special photo booth set up at the Sumida Ward office where couples could commemorate their marriage registrations. One big event that wasn’t organized was a countdown to Reiwa at the famous intersection in front of Shibuya Station.
