Next week, we can expect the official announcement of Japan’s borders re-opening. But, as is always the case with Japan, there will still be some rules in place that foreign tourists will be expected to follow. Masks, vaccines, and tests are all very much still on the agenda.

The list of manufacturers you show is not exhaustive, one should check the link you added (e.g. Comirnaty is manufactured by Pfizer, BioNTech and other manufacturers).
Reminds me that the European Union Covid certificate DOES NOT list all three injections on a single document, so EU residents will need to bring along/submit all three certificates to the MySOS App.
Thank you for bringing the Japanese people concern about foreigners not following covid counter measures like mask wearing and social distancing. We should follow the rules, even if the same rules does not apply anymore in our own countries. If you won't wear a mask, PLEASE wait until Japan drops its usage to return.

I'm in Okinawa. I never wear a mask. Nobody cares. 25% of people don't wear one. Nobody is afraid of foreigners here. It's all good. Come on down. I'm not vaxed. Never will be. Nobody cares.

It’s not absurd at all. Japan has had an unwritten rule to wear masks for a very long time.
Japan is entitled to keep foreigners out, if they choose. It's their nation. Japan has a long history of "keeping to themselves" and not allowing hordes of foreigners to immigrate to their country. Wise. For if they did that, Japan's unique culture would be soon lost.

how about if the 1st and 2nd vaccine is sinovac and the 3rd vaccine is either pfizer or moderna, will the japan immigration accepted the tourist ?

I first got a Johnson & Johnson shot then I received a Pfizer on my second doze. So I only have 2. I tried to get another shot but the clinic doctor said no, that I was just fine.
I read one paragraph on an official Japanese government site which said the first Jannsen shot counts as two, so a second Jannsen or any other recognized vaccine counts as the third. I had one J&J jab and haven't been "boosted" and didn't intend to be, but if Japan requires it I'll get a second Jannsen shot, because I trust the delivery tech more than the others.

Im all about mask and vaccines, but blaming foreigners for COVID spread is a little silly, when foreigners werent even allowed to enter freely while Japan peaked covid cases. WIth that, i'm glad they are finally opening up! I already bought my plane ticket for december! wooooooo 🙂

The whole world has moved on . The Japanese can freely travel to other countries but they don’t return the favour . Cases even peaked when there wasn’t even tourist in Japan so who are they blaming for that ?

Many Japanese friends of mine told me they found the reduction in foreign tourists quite pleasant (less stress, shorter lines, just more comfortable in general), but the restrictions must end bc the economy needs the help.

Dear Outside World,
Thank you very much for your love for our homeland. However, it must be pointed out the Japan belongs to the Japanese people. We the Japanese have to right to impose any requirements we like to for our homeland. This is a fundamental right that you as non Japanese must accept.
As for the G7, why should Japan aligned with the G7? Japan handled the covid problem much better than any G7 by far. We have the lowest death rate, both on per capita basis and overall basis. In fact, the g7 should be more like Japan.
While it is true the yen is weak, the west simply does not have the money for trips to Japan. Inflation is destroying the value of your money and there is a cost of living crisis in the west. And consumers in the west are having to rely on their credit card to pay for the bills. Simply put, the only thing you can afford is Walmart and you have to use a credit card for that.
As for individual tours, we simply cant trust you to follow our rules and respect our country. There have be numerous reports from other countries about unrulily behavior by tourist. ( Tourists fined for surfing up Venice's Grand Canal https://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/venice-italy-grand-canal-surfers/index.html).
Thank you for time. But for now, the rules stay as the are. You are welcome to spend you money somewhere else.
