Japan's Borders Are OPEN!! Restriction-Free Travel Is BACK!!

Japan is now officially opening again, with (mostly) restriction free travel for tourists.
Prime Minister Kishida gave a speech in New York that finally marked the end of Japan’s strict Covid-19 border control policies.
But, as is always the case with Japan, there will still be some rules in place that foreign tourists will be expected to follow. Masks, vaccines, and tests are all very much still on the agenda.

As always, Subscribe to keep up-to-date on Japan’s border and tourism news.

  1. Glad to see the ban coming to an end. I've had no issues with wearing a mask since I've been in Japan – especially since it's cooled down. But I've noticed more and more people outside choosing to not wear them finally. I think that the majority of people who will come to Japan right away will have no issues in hotels, etc. But we all know there's going to be that one person who makes the news… πŸ™ƒ

  2. Hello Jesse,

I have a situation – Mexico is part of the (68) countries that do not require a VISA. That said, I am traveling to Singapore and Thailand however our final destination before going back to NA is Tokyo to which our departure currently is Oct. 10th with United Airlines.

Do you think it is 100% guaranteed that they re-open on Oct. 11th same way they did with the announcement for Sept. 7th? It would be great and amazing if we can travel to Tokyo and take our flight back home by just switching the dates but I am not entirely sure. One more thing, do you think that even though it was said to be Oct. 11th that they change it to a sooner date?

  3. i booked my flights last week hoping the news will come, great to hear it finally happened.

  4. Wearing masks is a great idea! Protect yourself and others. Glad to hear that hotels can deny guests for not wearing masks! People not wearing masks are selfish!

  5. Hello sir. Hope you are doing good. I am very eager to visit Japan. I got 3 doses of( Covishield) vaccine completed including booster jab. But the vaccine is not under the list of approval by Japan. It's not manufactured by Bharat Biotech but by Serum Institute of India Pvt Ltd. Do I need to quarantine. Please reply SirπŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

  6. I care about my health, I love sunshine and fresh airTherefore I’m not going to wear a mask. Anyone who think $.10 piece of paper going to stop a virus is ignorant. We should set a good example for our children and not give into peer pressure or deviate from the truth. Trust science but don’t trust scientists.

  7. Why on usembassy.gov it says that Travelers from US to Japan, regardless of their vaccination status, will no longer require covid testing. But you say we do, can you explain?

  8. Thank you for the video man but I didn't get the point with the PCR. I have only one shot of Janssen can I just do a PCR test pre-departure?

  9. It’s been a few years since I’ve been to Japan.

If the minimum requirement is a PCR test upon entry, for the unjabbed, then I’ll be there in March!
