Rick Steves’ Europe Travel Guide | No trip to Italy is complete without Milan and Lake Como. In Milan we’ll take a peek at Italy’s highest fashion, fanciest delis, grandest cemetery, and greatest opera house…not to mention Leonardo’s Last Supper. Then we’ll cruise along Lake Como, settling down in the lakeside village of Varenna…classic honeymoon country, where Italy meets the Alps. #ricksteveseurope #milan #lakecomo

  1. That's the most beautiful cemetery I've ever seen!!! Everything Rick shows, but that CEMETERY 😧😧😧☺️☺️☺️

  2. I hate to expose my ignorance but what form of government does Italy have now. Are they part of the EU?? Is Communist Party extant? With what's going on in U kraine, what is majority opinion of Russia's actions?? I can't imagine being fearful of this beauty being damaged by war.

  4. You Tube is the window of the world. I never thought I'd see places like Milan, nor did I have any inkling of what beautiful places in this world looks like. Thank you Rick Steves.

  5. Oho….Ahaa.. Wonderful! Amazing!❤️ Rick Steve's Travel Vlog is perhaps the best in world in all respects!💯💓.. wonderful fascinating narrative, cinematic effects…and what's not?😂

  6. Rick, love all your work! After two years of home bound, we are going to Milan and lake como. Would you please recommend places to stay in both places? We are a group of 5, three adults, two teenagers. Possibly hire a tour guide for two weeks in late June? Thanks

  7. Rick I've come to really love your work and who you are over the last few years. we are all lucky you have you.

  8. Do people actually believe this history? Lol I work in construction there is not a single chance that any Contractor in the world could build something like Milan’s central station. But we’re saying that Mussolini unveiled it in the 30s? And the were supposed to believe the duomo which is otherworldly was built as a flamboyant show of power? No one today could build this, idk what the truth is but our history is dreadfully wrong. The past human civilizations were far more advanced. Which is much more in line with the yugas theory from Vedic tradition

  9. We are staying now for 4 nights in Albergo Milano in Varenna as recommended by Rick in this video and are not disappointed! Pre covid we visited Bellagio also for 4 nights where we rented an airbnb that was spendy but amazing. Bellagio and Varenna are places we will return to again and again. Time on Lake Como is a great way to end one of our long trips to the EU. Thanks Rick! You never let us down. I have been following you since Europe through the Back Door which I carried with me and diligently used during my first trip to Europe in 1983 for 4 weeks. We also have enjoyed many of your free walking tours using your app including Venice Athens, Vienna, Dublin, Amsterdam, Rome and Ephasus which was better than the walking tour we paid for. Probably used more… losing count! You always help and never fail to make us smile. God bless (something I almost never say) and thank you again for helping to enrich our lives.

  10. The "grotesque " statue of St Bartholomew, matches the style of the Cathedral: Gothic!
The word Gothic means Grotesque, so named by Vasari, the famous Florentine/ Renassiance Artist/Archect. (built the Ufficci/ offices, for the Medici)
He thought the European Cathedrals were Very ugly (grotesque) compared to the Romanesque churches e.g. Basilicas/Duomo of Italy.!

  11. I would always watch Rick with my parents and it was wholesome and edifying and a celebration of our rich cultural patrimony.

  12. Please: it's Varenna, with a short 'e' and double 'n', NOT 'Varena', with a long 'e', as you pronounce it.
