This was a truly amazing visit! I just loved it! It is a perfect example how a Japanese garden can be design in a “small” space by using the right design principles… It has everything – shrubs perfectly pruned to give a sensation of depthless which makes the hill it much “taller and bigger than it really is, the hide and reveal thru paths and intelligent use of shrubs, maples and blossom cherry trees, just perfect! The remarkable use of particular tree/ color to give an accent to a particular scenery, beautiful pines, well pruned to give movement and sense of elderness. Great use of stones to give character and sense of greatness (another design resource really well done because it is a quite “small” hill but it seams much bigger, much older than it really is)… Amazing waterfalls and beautiful mirror pond with a small stone lantern as a lighthouse and stone (turtle?)… And to end up hill a nice waiting house on top to seat and enjoy one of the ponds and waterfall, to then come down the hill thru a zigzag path to find the mirror pond and finally exit the garden… Wau!!! Totally a must see in Europe!
