Blue pond in Biei town in Hokkaido.
I always visit this place when I travel to Biei because I like the blue color of the water very much.
Originally this pond was constructed to prevent damage from an eruption of Mount Tokachidake in 1988🌋.
But when spring water and water from the river began to accumulate, an amazing blue pond appeared by chance.
It is said that the blue color comes from the affection of the sunlight and aluminum in the water.
When there is no wind, the pond looks like a giant mirror.
The best time to go is early in the morning on a sunny day☀️.
Because there is often no wind in the morning and the color of the water changes depend on the sunlight.

美瑛の青い池。
この色あいが大好きなので美瑛を旅するときは必ず訪れます。
1988年の十勝岳の噴火の際の防災対策として作られた場所に、偶然湧き水や川の水が溜まってできたんだそうです。
この青い色は、太陽光と水に含まれるアルミニウムの影響だと言われています。
おすすめは晴れた日の早朝。
風がないことが多いので、大きな鏡のようなリフレクションが見られます。
