Located in Tottori Prefecture, along the coast of the Sea of Japan, the Tottori Sand Dunes are the largest sand dunes in Japan, surprising visitors with an unexpectedly desert-like landscape. There are a number of attractions to enjoy around the dunes, include camel rides, paragliding and sand boarding (a variation on snowboarding).
