Located in Nagano Prefecture, the Hakuba Yari Onsen hot spring sits in the middle of the Hakuba Yarigatake mountain range over 6800 feet above sea level. The only way up here is by foot. Open from late July through late September, it will take a beginner hiker about 5 hours one way from the nearest town of Sarukura. Trek up here and be rewarded by spectacular views of the surrounding mountains while bathing outdoors. A bucket-list destination for nature lovers!
