Rick Steves’ Europe Travel Guide | In peaceful Normandy, we explore the half-timbered charm of Rouen, reflect on Monet’s lily ponds in Giverny, peek in on local artisans, and set up an easel at Honfleur’s harbor. We venture into composer Eric Satie’s eccentric world and feast on the finest of Normandy cuisine. After pondering sacrifice and celebrating freedom on the D-Day beaches, we hike with pilgrims to the enchanted island abbey of Mont St-Michel. © 2004 Rick Steves’ Europe #ricksteves #ricksteveseurope #normandy

Great documentary when you said friendly locals…..Bang ON ! The rest we know is beuatiful.
Amazing the shallow waters during high tide have remained at such a consistent level since the island of Mont St. Michel(?) was inhabited. Similar in Venice. Saudi Arabia still has their billion dollar palm island, and they want to build more. Hawaii? But the west seems willing to ignore natural variation in global climate. How many prior ice ages? Are we in one now? Lol, no. Cute abby tho. Thanks for pleading on behalf Biden's election, Rick. Got to keep those PBS tax dollars coming in from the democrats, correct? Well played.
I remember going to Brittany when I was 11 on a school French trip, we took a coach all the way from Oxfordshire to Normandy.

My Father was a Naval officer but fought in the Pacific. Thanks to him I am a WWII history addict and WWI. I am going to visit Normandy sometime this year. With my three daughters, his three grand daughters! He was dead before they were born but I know if he were alive he would be traveling with us. Thank you Rick Steves! Excellent video and makes me excited about visiting the wonderful country of France. 👍
