Riding Nunobiki Ropeway Top to Bottom, Mt. Rokko, Kobe – Hyogo Prefecture | The Real Japan | HD

Nestling on the Kobe city side of Mt. Rokko is the Nunobiki Herb Garden. To get here you need to take the Nunobiki Ropeway with its dramatic views over Kobe and Osaka.

With spectacular views over Kobe and out across Osaka Bay to Osaka and Kansai International Airport in the distance, riding the ropeway from the top of the densely forested side of the mountain to the bottom next to Shin-Kobe Railway Station is one of my favourite ways to pass the time whenever I am in Kobe.

Stunning views over Kobe, Osaka Bay and beyond.

This video (showing the journey from top to bottom) is a follow-up to last month’s livestream (from the bottom to the top): https://youtu.be/GXsIAFsPeic

  3. I enjoyed the ropeway the couple times I've ridden it in the past. More interesting for me are the hiking trails below that start behind Shin Kobe station. They lead up to a beautiful waterfall with a nice café that overlooks it and a little further is an overlook of the city of Kobe.

Continuing on various trails to the reservoir and beyond you can come to Dairyuji (Buddhist temple with a small Shinto shrine also on site) on Futatabiyama. Here there are memorial markers to an American B-29 crew and the Japanese pilot that crashed his plane in theirs.
