A cute Japanese girl Yuka-chan guided me around Asakusa by rickshaw again😊 | Rickshaw in Asakusa



I took a rickshaw ride again in Asakusa driven by a very cute girl driver, Yuka-chan!

This time Yuka-chan introduced me to downtown Asakusa, “Toki no Kane” and “Nitenmon”.😊

It was a hot day, but Yuka-chan’s careful guidance made for a wonderful ride.

    I took a rickshaw ride driven by Yuka-chan again in Asakusa.

    It was a very hot day, but it was a great ride thanks to Yuka-chan's careful and fun guiding. 😊

    If you are ever in Asakusa, you should definitely take a ride on a rickshaw driven by Yuka-chan!

    Great stuff as usual, GTJT Onii-san. ゆかちゃん at her best, natural, spontaneous, genki and ever so funny. She's always modest regarding her popularity and conversation / guiding skills but she's got an amazingly bright personality and worked very hard to improve her knowledge of Asakusa and her physical condition as a driver. Though I heard them time and time again, I found her explanations around Benzaiten's shrine / Kane no Toki and Nitenmon very complete and informative.

    Your Eigo translation of 七福神 / Shichi-Fuku-Jin was spot on, by the way. Not only some of us 外人 are familiar with the term but also with the Gods themselves, namely : Hotei, Jurōjin, Fukurokuju, Bishamonten, Benzaiten, Daikokuten and Ebisu. That boat ゆかちゃん refers to at 12:30 is often called "Takarabune" (Treasure Boat), legend says during the three first days of each new year, the Gods sail it from the heavens into human harbors. It's been depicted in many paintings and engraving, the famous one ゆかちゃん mentioned might be that of ukiyo-e legendary artist : Hiroshige.

    Nice job all over the place, GTJT Onii-san. Awesome camera work, very lively and enjoyable conversation. As often, I didn't see time fly. There wasn't a single dull moment in that whole vid. Regarding the hard-beating sun, I don't know who's the more considerate between you and young ゆかちゃん. She's just as brave driving in that heat as you are conscientious in insisting to leave the roof open in order to shoot the best possible pictures for us lucky viewers to enjoy. Her reaction about the back-lighting and having a halo around her (21:41 – 22:00) was hilarious.

    Speaking of which, I've always noticed the perception of suntan is radically opposed in Japan compared to some western cultures, where people gladly lock themselves in UV boxes to come out of it with an unnatural orange-brownish tan (11:36 – 11:42) and I have to say I'm kind of glad to see the "Garyu gal"-style isn't as popular as it once was. 31:30 : Is that the modern version of "iro no shiroi wa shichinan kakusu" / fair skin hides (the) seven flaws ? Even though ゆかちゃん calls it "small talk", I found it all quite funny and interesting.

    As expected, this ride was gold. Big thumbs up to you both, warmest regards to everyone at 東京力車 and ありがとうございます to you all for your hard work. 🗾❤👍.

    I'm super impressed with yuka-chan. She has remarkable stamina. she can pull that rickshaw and doesn't seem even slightly out of breath when she talks. She's also so cute & friendly.
