Don’ts of Ireland: What Not to Do On Your Ireland Vacation

The Shocks of Visiting Ireland

What to Know Before You Visit Ireland

We travel with a Microsoft Surface everywhere we go. I edit my videos on it & use it to backup my pictures and vides while we travel. It’s light and the best travel laptop on the market in my opinion.

We use Sony Alpha series cameras to film our videos. They are compact so you don’t look like a super tourist when you take great pictures and videos while you travel.

We use Manfrotto Tripods. They are compact, travel well, and honestly I would not use another tripod for my nice cameras.

Travel Plug that works in pretty much any country & has four USB ports. A must for any traveler.

  1. Yes, he gets it right. (And this from a Yank who has been to Ireland 15 times–more than a month each time.) But wait . . . the Rock of CashELL? Please, it's CASHel. And it's not Smith-wicks; more like smiticks. Good red ale!

  2. Good manners are welcome everwhere! When everyone travels they should travel with an open mind and a kind heart. Regarding driving on the left, about 17% of the world drives on the left (Australia, Great Britain, Japan, South Africa etc.) Regarding Gaelic Football, there is a related game played in Australia called Australian Rules Football. Dublin is like most capital cities, expensive. if you travel to Belfast in Northern Ireland you'll find it more reasonably priced. P.S. As other people have noted Temple Bar in Dublin is a "tourist trap" where overseas visitor go to get drunk, there are a dozens of better places to go in Dublin.

  3. I'm Irishm great video but I had to laugh at the 'don't go to temple bar late at night unless you wanna see a lot of drunk (tourists).' Those drunk people are guaranteed Irish 😂

  4. There is no law against drinking in public places in Ireland — which was a relief while pubs were closed during the lockdown (but it wasn’t just because of that). You can drink peaceably in a small group in St Stephen’s Green in Dublin, or on a beach even if there are no signs saying otherwise, if you wish. It is technically (haha) illegal to be drunk, which means if you’re disturbing the peace really.

    Otherwise, I enjoy these vids!

  5. The people in Ireland are only friendly if you say your protestant to the Protestants and catholic to the catholics oh and if your In Belfast Do NOT go the shankill road whatever you do DONT go there

  6. Just came back after spending 8 days in Ireland 🇮🇪. Had the best time ever. Took four day trips out of Dublin and covered lot of ground. Ireland is so well connected. We did not rent a car, and used trains, DART and booked day trips with PaddyWagon, Wild Rover and Irish railway tours and we booked them thru viator. Did the Dublin on our own and took DART to Howth, a beautiful seaside fishing town outside Dublin. Worth the visit. This guy is spot on. Loved Ireland, loved the people and the food and not to mention the Guinness beer. My favorite beer now. LOVED IT!! Thank you Ireland for your hospitality!!🙏💐🇮🇪🙏 Love from San Francisco California 🇺🇸

  7. TIPPING…here's a TIP🤣🤣……..we always hear about 'Amuricans' and the (compulsory) tipping over there…yet over here in Ireland they hardly ever tip because they're told it not compulsory. Here's the deal, when Irish people tip, 10% is the usual tip and if you're paying by card make it 15% because the card machine companies charge 2-5%..😡 If you're paying cash and the bill is €18, just say "You're grand(keep it)" when offered the €2 change from a €20 note, or just say "Make it €20" if you're paying with a €50 note. In pubs etc tip the server with cash €/$ , because some establishments don't pay the credit card tips to their staff😡😡😡.
Other tips..day trips from Dublin..visit Howth fishing village on the Northside(DART train), and Glendalough in the Wicklow mountains(Glendalough Bus)….

  8. Don't be surprised if you are invited to a wake. In a pub, you will be asked if you play. They mean music, what instrument do you play. Have your answer and your instrument tuned ready.

  9. I’m American but my family originates from Ireland so I would love to visit sometime. Definitely on my bucket list

  10. I'm looking to move out the country and Ireland is one of the places I want to move to, so this was very useful.

  11. Wow I visited this creator’s page considering a trip to Ireland, but the comments from the Irish on this board seem aggravated, and demeaning, towards those who visit. Or who don’t meet their satisfaction in pronunciation… Or even in what deserves to be photographed… I’m glad I read through these.

  12. I’m torn. Ireland has one of the lowest rapes in the world, so it’s safer to vacation there. On the other hand, they say it’s never sunny so that’s depressing and they haven’t read the memo that consuming animal corpses is hazardous to the animals, the longevity of the planet, their health and their ability to stay looking younger longer.

  13. Do they have Starbucks? The weight of my decision resides within this stellar question

  14. i want to take my husband to learn about his Irish side because he doesn't have a clue and he needs to for our kids.

  15. Ireland is my dream destination, especially along their coastline. I wish I had been born and raised in Ireland, specifically in towns around the coastline.

  16. I don't think it's just Dublin, but we only got 5 days there! And I am not too sure any of us are comfortable and confident enough to drive on the left side and learn the ways.

  17. Also if you come it is safer than America in a way and don’t be nervous because for example we can’t buy guns unless we get a license which are really really rare and if your coming note that a lot of Ireland is rocky especially the west(the west is also quite windy) and we have lots of castles and rivers so bring hiking boots and as you know we are very coastal you can basically get to a beach within about 3 hours (maybe less I don’t know) from wherever you are but be prepared for the water to be cold !!!!! Also we have some phrases that we say in Irish or Gaelic whatever you call it one of the most used ones being “what’s the Craic” or “ any banter” which both mean do you have any news or what’s the story basically the same thing
