July 13, 2014, Tokyo, Japan – The annual Mitama festival at Yasukuni Shrine on July 13, 2014. The festival celebrates the spirits of lost ancestors and is held across Japan in early July. There are over 30,000 lanterns lining the path to the shrine to help spirits find their way during the festival. Yasukuni Shrine is also the place where more than 2.4 million war dead are enshrined.This year the festival is held from July 13 to 16. (Video by Rodrigo Reyes Marin/Nippon News)
